I picked up Vol 1 at lawless 2019 so it's been a long wait for Vol 2. The book and art are beautifully big to go with the big price. I enjoyed this and will be forking out for Space Bastards Vol 2 which is drawing by our very own Langley & MacNeil and with the big page format this should be pretty awesome.

Hopefully I've put the link up correctly.

Forgot to say Bisley helped with Vol 1 and Boo Cook has contributed in both👍🏻

Unless I'm mistaken , isn't that Jim Campbell on letters?

I'm keen on this, but postage to the UK is an absolute killer - $45 for both volumes, with VAT on top - so I may need to wait on paperback versions (hopefully later this year?)

Honestly thought vol 1 was like the summer offensive 2000ad - all bombast, no charm. The idea would work as a wagner short because essentially the number of loonies prepared to engage in the activity (deathrace2000 postcodes) is limited - nobody in the world seems that poor they have to guarantee their death in a profession where people die every page. Vol 1 art wasn't for me either but vol 2 is catnip.
If I'd known it was harmless I would have killed it myself.

Ee-ook, my apologies.

None needed! I know it seems like I letter about half the comics that come out every month, but I reckon it's barely a quarter. ;)

I find it baffling how shipping is worked out sometimes. When I've ordered a ton of massive HCs from In Stock Trades, that's usually cost me $50 for full-fat insured FedEx. But then you see Kickstarters with a similar cost for a couple of floppies, or the baffling Atomic Robo Kickstarter where $170 of books (9 skinny HCs) had a shipping price of $205! Which is insane. (Plus, it turns out that the books quite often arrived with mashed corners and scrapes anyway.)

EDIT: Looking at their current online store, they'd still charge $107 for shipping nine books (so... $333 in total!). And they estimate duty and tax to be $102.26, which is a bit of a concern, given that books are zero-rated in the UK. Sigh. I'd love Atomic Robo in HC...

Dumb question. Are vol1 and 2 available to buy?

I ask because I was of the understanding these were foot high books, but when I Google it I seem to get results for a comic costing a fiver.

Can anyone please tell me where I can buy these from (not the Kickstarter).

When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.

Old age is the Lord's way of telling us to step aside for something new. Death's in case we didn't take the hint.

Thanks. When I follow the link what it offers me for vol1 is 52 pages. I was under the impression this was a lot more than that - the Kickstarter page talks about a foot high volume. So I am still confused 😢

Depends what way up you hold it.

I think you can get the individual issues at the moment but not the collected volumes, which is what this KS is for.

The Summer Offensive comparison is an interesting one as I didn't pick this up initially because it reminded me of that sort of charmless, violent comic. The artists for vol.2 are much more my taste so interest rekindled, but I think I'll wait.

When they (Clint, Bisley and the writer) did the convention circuit in 2019 it was a oversized Hardback in the 100 plus pages area. Vol 1 had Darick Robertson & Bisley on art duties and read basically as Vol 1.0 (Robertson) and 1.5 (bisley). They announced vol 2 was all paid for and ready to print in 2020 - art by MacNeil and Langley.

It clearly was a very well funded vanity project by the writer (and his friend) being sold on the basis of 'I love 2000ad too' but worth a punt given who was involved. I bought vol 1 largely because they were selling it and I assumed some of the story might be needed for vol 2 (100 plus pages of MacNeil and Langley - yes please). I don't think I finished it but would have picked up vol 2 for the art.

Recently I saw the Robertson stuff announced as a floppy from Humanoids starting 2021. It's publishing plans (7-part run, a one-shot, 2 annuals) seems... complicated? Anyway issue 1 of this appears to be the 52 page offering.
