Oddboy

...probably - given that it's got a new title of "Tales of the Rogue Trooper"
Better set your phaser to stun.

Lobo Baggins

I should think not, given Gordon's take on their relationship in one of his Bile Duct columns...

Actually, it's made pretty clear that that they were supposed to be gay on their last appearance...http://uk.geocities.com/mattd.sharp@btinternet.com/blandbrass.JPG">
The wages of sin are death, but the hours are good and the perks are fantastic.

Oddboy

And they were based on the two gay spies in the 007 book/film 'Diamonds are Forever'.
Better set your phaser to stun.

The Amstor Computer

Ha! Blimey, I'd forgotten that - fairly conclusive, I reckon :-)

Satanist

Hmm, just pretend I wrote something witty eh?

Funt Solo

Right - so these tales are free to use Bland, Brass, Magnam, Bluegenes, the Traitor General et al?

Again this is sinking into oblivion and it is only just wednesday.

Here we go:

Dredd - After a few action packed episodes, Wagner slows everything down to great effect here. Walker's art is typically nice, and the ending was quite intriguing, even if 'twere obvious she was still alive

Red Seas - This had too much exposition and felt like a bit of a filler episode, to be honest. Yeowell's art is enjoyable, but the most I can say about this episode is that I won't mind if I never get to read it again.

Leatherjack - This got a bit pedestrian for a few weeks, but this is a big improvement, as we see some of the dynamism that I enjoyed in the strip previously.

Sin/Dex - This is astonishingly good stuff, and not just for Sin/Dex. (and not just cos it has a naked lady in it.) This story hhas mostly just been exposition, but it still is enthralling, and builds tension far more effectively then one-off mysteries such as Breathing Space. I'm still dreading the tedious drawn-out shootout, but it doesn't look now as if it can happen, and there may even be some reason to care about it now. I hope Ron doesn't get killed as he's great. Plus Simon's always great. Two thumbs up.

Rogue Trooper - I found this a bit hard to get into, Coleby's art is a bit too dark. I hope this isn't just "Rogue kinda falls for her AND THEN SHE DIES TRAGICALLY" as this has potential.

Overall: Not as good as in recent weeks, but worth the money, especially for Sin/Dex (feels weird saying that).

He's only trying to be what following how his dreams make you wanna be, man!

Carlsborg Expert

AH, it was one of those weeks where I read through and enjoyed everything.

You know how sometimes you have to pick a story to break into the comics 5?

I think its done when all are equally as good as each other.

Well it was Sinister/Dexter.

Possibly out of curiosity to why something out of life drawing class was paley splashing herself around a deadmans bedroom.

Rogue still is/was the last of his kind. He's the last Genetic Infantryman.

Rafaella Blue is a pilot, to say she's a GI pilot doesn't make sense..

(my understanding of military ranks is basic to say the least, but wouldn't she have
to be a commissioned officer to fly combat craft?)

Obviously you're not a golfer.

Mandroid:  So good I didn't even notice the almost complete lack of Dredd

The Red Seas: Ooh, nice.  This gets the prize of the wittiest strip in tooth for quite some time, with some wonderful ideas and artwork too.

Leatherjack:  This is awesome.  A complete change of direction and still just as good or better than last week.

Sinister Dexter: Best its been in ages.  The last story had promise, but this one delivers.  Naked lady.

Rogue Trooper:  Can't get into it...

All in all, 2000AD has escaped the end-of-year blues this time to be the best its been in yonks.  But I think I've said that about the last few months as well.  Its been a good six months, ok?

Carlsborg Expert

Yeah. Do you reckon thats Rico with Joe on the first page?
They do look similiar but one has no way of knowing for sure.

DavidXBrunt

We do now, what with Rico having a metal jaw.

Carlsborg Expert

Hmm. Wasn't there talk of some plasti-skin whatsit covering it though?

DavidXBrunt

Dunno but I'm sure Dredd said it'd make it easier to tell them apart.
