Messages - Starkers

I sent a future Shock script through a few months ago. Now it's actually my third submission and I know from experience that Tharg can sometimes take a while to get back to you. I'm find with this cos I know 2000AD like most publishers get a huge volume of submissions.

But then I know someone else who submitted about a month after me and who got a rejection within a couple of weeks! At first I took heart from this, thinking maybe mine had made it through to a second slush pile, but the longer it goes on the more I just get paranoid that 2000AD never received it in the first place.

Anyway, the question is, does anyone know if its possible to find out if a submission's been received? Like I say, I don't have a problem waiting, I'd just like to know they got it  :)

Strictly Come Dancing!

Never watched it, never had any intention of watching it, but thenI started seeing someone and she loved it so I figured I'd just tolerate it...got hooked very quickly. Still seeing the same woman but suspect even if I wasn't I'd still be watching!

That's a really good blog post, and probably something most people wanting to be writers should read. I think even the most realistic of aspiring writers probably don't have a clue just how long the process might take before they get any small measure of success, and how many rejections they'll get along the way. (sure as hell I didn't) and of course that rejections don't stop just because you've been published a few times!

I really liked it. Few plot holes but overall very good, Karen and Arthur did really well with this.

No, for grud's sakes no, mr tips, please dont make that mistake! there has been much written online about that, and yes it's true- as far as the rough events of the film are concerned the trailer does cover most everything.

But for once, for once, it's the STORY that matters- this isnt a blockbuster in the transformers mode, where things just need to be ticked off before the final battle. With Rise, the trailer doesnt even begin to tell the whole story- it's the best apes film since the original and the more i see it, the more i  think its probably better than that. Dont let a misreading of the trailer's content put you off seeing it.

All true. Currently this is the second best film of the year for me (currently seen 21 at the cinema) A great example of how to reboot a franchise intelligently and reverently as well. So many nods to the original here (some more subtle than others) and Serkis and the WETA guys did a wonderful job on Ceaser. Loved the Orangutan as well!  :D

Just a quick word to say hi. Been reading 2000AD (off and on) since Prog 219 and thought it was about time I found people to talk to about it!

Big fan of Dredd, Rogue Trooper, Savage, Kingdom and Dante and love future shocks (or variations of!)
