Well I'm glad that I'm not the only one making an effort to remain gorgeous in my late fifties.

I tested the water with FF5 (mainly because we had a new blu-ray player - bought really for streaming and other apps - and it was the only blu-ray in Sainsbury for less than a tenner) and really enjoyed it. If you can't get on board the daftness of 5, you have no hope with the others.

It helps that at this point they still take it pretty seriously... The screenwriter s genuinely seem to be trying to tell character and story with the fights, chases and stunts in general. And they aren't quite superheroes yet... Just super humans.

 He doesn't do much.

Colour me stupid but I only just realised that Ming-Na Wen was Chun-Li in the 1994 Street Fighter.

That must make her not far off in age with Temeura Morrison. One of them has a lot of City miles!

(I had assumed she was way younger because they needed a young side kick to do all of the physical stuff that Boba can't.)

I have two ideas:

VARIETY BAR from 1600 on Saturday 5th - plenty of nosh places round about and not too much of a stroll from Forbidden Planet.

Or

MONO from 1600 on Saturday 5th. Just around the corner from A1 comics and that game shop (plus that Military Surplus stuff that has a little too much German WW2 stuff ft or me to feel comfortable).

"Skeletons" imply wrongdoings, improprieties, illegalities - which in turn suggests that such malfeasances are being deliberately withheld from the electorate in order to make unsuitable persons appear fit for government in the first place.

Possibly the main thing is withholding constituency funding with which you could try blackmail someone with no skeletons.

I note that the phrase "there's no evidence this happened" has been trotted out as opposed to a proper denial.

What is Star Warsy?

Pre-1984.

Ha ha! That's certainly the case for some people.

What is Star Warsy?

Good question which is why I framed it with "feel" and "to me".

It's different things to different people but I would imagine there are some things definitely "not Star Wars" e.g. time travel or biological warfare or "mutants" or masked vigilante superheroes. That beast, when stood on it's hind legs and when you saw close-ups of it's face seemed to come from D&D rather than Star Wars.

Sometimes I watch things to show how intelligent and clever I am. Sometimes because I think I'll enjoy them.

This was the latter; I am not a big fan of Bounty Hunters in Star Wars or Boba Fett but I find something to like in most Star Wars. This didn't work at all for me.

The beast at the end of Episode 1 summed it up; it just didn't feel Star Warsy to me*. And that conclusion should have felt more badass.

I'll give it one more episode but only because of Jennifer Beals.

*Cue fifty people telling me it's something that's been canon since 1977.

Linking it to "the day before Prince Philip funeral" is a genius idea to remove any remaining support flag shaggers have for him.

Douglas Ross, to whom I never tire of shouting "Fuck off, Douglas!" whenever he appears on screen, Leader of Scottish Conservative Party, has called for Boris to resign.

Well done, Douglas. But can you still fuck off, please?
