Like others, I have been lurking on the forum (for the past ten months or so) and decided it was high time I joined in!
I used to read "early" 2000 AD in the late 70s through until 1981, when the family moved abroad to Singapore. I was there three years and then sent back to school in the UK, and never resumed reading the prog. I seemed to remember I was more into Kerrang magazine in those mid teenage years!
I fell back into reading 2000 AD when the Mega Collection started last year. At the same time I started getting the weekly prog, which has enthusiastically continued, and also steadily increased my graphic novel collection in general, covering 2000 AD, Marvel and DC.
Some of my other interests include model making, when I get the time (plastic and wood), old 1950s Land Rovers, Motorsport, drumming, and whilst I have quite a broad musical taste, "old school" heavy metal!
I look forward to start attending conventions/events, and meet up with some of you good folk. From the variety of posts on here it looks great fun. I live in York, so Thought Bubble is an obvious contender, and perhaps the Manchester event at "Event City".
