I like buying presents for people. Not because of a noble "it is better to give than receive ethic" but just because I really like spending money...

Tough call this one - sadly there is too much to choose from.  I really find it hard to choose between BEC AND KAWL, BISON, SIN/DEX and countless FUTURE SHOCKS/TELEGUTH.  But I am the anti-Spurrier so it has to be:

BEC AND KAWL.

Rennie - despite the fact I only liked about one of his Rogue Troopers, I thought his DREDD's were great and I felt he was the only droid that got a handle on Past Imperfect

Edington. Scarlet Traces and enjoyable (if flimsy) Red Seas had me page turning in anticipation.

I would think that it's better not to vote at all in this category rather than vote for somebody by default...

Can I ask you to clarify if this means NEW to 2000AD and THE MEG or new as in "Never written anything before?".

Keep up the good work Gavin.  It's a good site and though I disagree with a lot of your views, it's enertaining to read them and the contrast with Logan.

DREDD:  Thought this was an average one-off but the final twist (it's a suicide kit) elevated it.  And how come Judge Fodder is killed by a head shot and Judge Dredd isn't?

RED SEAS:  Sad to see this finish.  I have enjoyed it.  I didn't like the anachronistic dialogue by the devil though (except The Stones introduction) and I thought there was too much info-dumping and previously unrevealed plot and character points ssuddenly thrown up.  Oh and an object lession in how to do a "shitting yourself" joke without causing offence (well, too much offence). A weak end but I'd like to see more.

ASYLUM: Disappointed that this was so completely unsubtle in the end -it started with promise then turned into a daft fight.  I liked the Belly death being used to show the badguy the error of his ways but can someone explain exactly what does HOLT do to save everyone?  Does he suddenly develop special powers in a time of crisis (this was mocked a few issues back).  Wasn't clear to me even on rereading - probably me being thick today.

SIN/DEX: I'm amazed that a writer of Mister Abnett's caliber has to resort to "and with one bound, Jack was free" to end a tale.  But at least he ended it. Can we hope that it's for good?

I miss the input page but am looking forward to Prog 2003.

Enjoyed this but I'm beginning to suspect that people are finding it hard to come up with satisfying yet suprising endings to stories (and by suprising I don't mean a mad twist, I mean something logical).

Wagner because I thought SIN CITY was absolutely the best thing in 2000AD this year.

I licked her thigh once (the Transvision Vamp Wendy James, that is).  I was thinking about other women as I did it though....

Au contraire - I'd say that PCs are only good for playing games if a) you like waiting for it to stop crashing and b) you don't mid having to upgrade your hardware every six months so that the "latest" game doesn't run like a sick pig on mogodon.  Online multiplayer is all well and good but it doesn't give you that "social" aspect of being able to wave your bum in somebodies face because you've just thrashed them at Mario Kart and they are sat next to you not 600 miles away hidden behind a modem.

And up until recently, because they were more limited in size, consoles had to spend a lot of time being inventive rather than just having massive levels.

For "instant-on", pick up and play fun, you can't beat consoles.

Mister Tips is currently enjoying: Mario Sunshine, Pikmin and Super Monkey Ball. He liked the graphics on Rogue Leader but didn't think it was a great game.  And Advance Wars on the GBA is fabulous as well.

I wasn't really offended, I was just making a point about tarring people with the same brush that Strontium Doug has elaborated upon quite nicely.

The kids are always fighting but it has very little to do with football or religion....

Apart from the comments of one or two people, it seems odd that the Old Firm fans are all being lumped together as narrow minded bigots.

Isn't it funny that the same broad brush strokes that are being decried ("All organised religion is bad" etc.) can be quite happily applied to sets of football fans.

I like Celtic. I have a daughter who supports Rangers and a son who supports Celtic.  I can't speak for myself but I know that they are neither stupid, bigotted or (ahem) "wankbags".  Some people just like the football they see.

PS: I hate having to post to this board sometimes.  I want to post stuff that makes me seem  big and clever and mature and then all of a sudden the opportunity to crack a cheap joke at someone else's expense comes along and I post it and then I regret it 'cos it makes me look as if I have some form of multiple personality disorder.  Or is that just me?

These endless contradictions are what makes me so fascinating as a person.

I'll be flogging my REVOLVER and CRISIS and WARRIOR shortly - I was going to do it on ebay but  I could probably just as easily do it here and "keep 'em in the family" so to speak.
