Creative Common / Brightside
08 June, 2023, 01:47:29 PM
I recently launched my latest kickstarter - 'BRIGHTSIDE' and we are already 36% funded. Written by myself with art by Nico Queme and colours and letters by Athol Buchen and published by Markosia the book tries to answer the eternal question.

'What would happen if James Bond was a Victorian steam punk Audrey Hepburn?'

Here's a quick synopsis-

Born in mysterious circumstances Amelia is raised by her adoptive Father, Sir Augustus Brightside (aka The Head of Her Majesty's Special Defences Department) to become the British Secret Services Super Spy Supreme and protect the world from tyrannical lunatic Gideon Silver. Will she succeed? And how will she deal with gun totting housekeepers, steam powered voyager discs and karate lessons before breakfast?

Reward tiers vary from £2 - £200 so if some steam punk kick ass action is your thing please check it out.

Creative Common / Steam punk Audrey Hepburn
12 September, 2021, 01:49:57 PM
Hello all, I am a British Comic Award and ComicScene Awards nominated writer from the UK. I am the writer and co-creator of such titles as MEGATOMIC BATTLE RABBIT, CHRONO -CAT, CLOCKWORK INC and many more and I've recently had a colourist and letterer (same person) drop out of a project. The project is a three issue mini series called 'Amelia Brightside- The Miracle Child ' and it's elevator pitch is 'What would happen if James Bond was a Victorian steam punk Audrey Hepburn.' So, we are looking for someone to full those shoes ( the artist is Nico Quern). I will be honest and upfront and say that we have zero budget for this project at the moment so it would be back end pay, but as I have a decent following and a very good relationship with a couple of publishers we shouldn't have too much trouble getting this picked up. If your interested in getting involved please email me at stuperrins1@gmail.com

The first issue of my next comic- Chrono-Cat is currently available to pre-order via Comixology.

Its an all ages time travel sci fi adventure, here's a quick synopsis -

When a freak accident transforms a cute and cuddly lab mascot into the world's first feline science superhero, Chrono-Cat must travel time and space to save his friends, the world and himself.

Written by me,  with art by Armando Zanker, who worked on Minute Man for Action Lab and letters and colours by Ron Gravelle who worked on the 3D effects for the 2007 Hulk this 3 part mini series is published by Markosia and is probably best described as a Saturday morning cartoon in print.

Books & Comics / MEGATOMIC BATTLE RABBIT (TPB)
02 November, 2020, 09:42:56 PM
Hi all,

Some of you may already know, but my latest book MEGATOMIC BATTLE RABBIT is out and available in stores and online in print and digital editions. The book was written by me, with by Spanish art wizard Israel Huertas and published by Markosia. The book has been described as an all ages cross between Stranger Things, Super 8 and TMNT and the main character (Megatomic Battle Rabbit himself) was voted runner up in the Best British Comic Character in last year's ComicScene Awards, only losing out to Judge Dredd (ekk!)

But what's it about?

As Megatomic Battle Rabbit explores the green and blue mudball planet that his ship has helpfully stranded him on, two primitive human creatures, science fiction fan Dexter and his friend Henry, investigate a mysterious blue light that fell from the sky.

So, if that sounds like your sort of thing, please click the link.

Creative Common / JOURNEYMAN (I need an artist)
03 August, 2018, 08:43:53 PM
Hey all,

I'm sure you've already worked it out but I am on the lookout for an artist for my next project.

It's for a one-shoot satire/homage to the 'extreme' comics of the 1990's called JourneyMan. It's 22 pages (plus cover) and is full of OTT action and cartoon-y ultra-violence and its something i'm really proud of is something i'm sure a lot of folks would get a kick out of.

The problem is, and I may as well be honest, I have zero budget for this so it would be a total 50% share of the profits and copyright, ect.

So, if you're interested please either comment or message me through the site OR email me at stuperrins1@gmail.com

Thanks.

Hey all,

You may have already guessed by the topic title, but i'm putting together mini comic con for my local area of Kingswinford in West Midlands. It's going to take place on the 12th May, at Kingswinford Library and be completely free entry.

There will be only be between 6-8 tables (still waiting to hear back from a couple of peeps) of local creators, authors, ect, but as it's a free event i'm hoping that a wide spectrum of people will attend, be it the comic fanatic to the person who only has a vague idea of who Superman, Spiderman and Judge Dredd. Everyone's invited.

I've set up a Facebook page for the event, so please check it out and 'like'.

Thanks.

Stu.

Books & Comics / WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE ARCHETYPE?
22 August, 2017, 08:55:52 AM
Some of you may be aware that i'm the writer and creator of a four issue mini series called 'Whatever happened to the Archetype?' which is published by Insane Comics. The art is by Ron Gravelle,(who amongst other things was part of the CGI team on Ed Norton Hulk movie) I'm extremely proud of this series and I'd really appreciate it if you checked it and let me know what you think.

Here's the info-

What are people saying about ' Whatever happened to the Archetype?'

'In the style of Alan Moore's Watchmen , Whatever happened to the Archetype? is going to turn heads. Intelligently plotted, outstanding artwork.' - Pop Culture HQ.

'Charming'- Comic Heroes

'Excellent. Leaves the reader wanting more. 5/5' - Uncanny Pop.

'Fresh approach to a classic superhero tale'- The Lost Lighthouse.

'Awesome' - Games and Graphics.

'I didn't want to put it down, excellent.' - Comic Book Guy reviews.

Why not make your own mind? Available in print and digitally from the Insane Comics online store.

Hey guys,

My name is Stu Perrins, I'm a British Comic Award nominated writer from the Uk and i'm looking for an artist/letter/inker for a new project. I did have someone lined up for this, but after months of going backwards and forwards the artist has jumped ship. Which is a bummer, but the show must go on.

The project is a three issue mini-series called 'Amelia Brightside- The Miracle Child' and the best way to pitch it is to say - 'What would happen if James Bond was a 1890's speed punk Audrey Hepburn?'. I would also describe the story as a cross between Hellboy, Penny Dreadful, 007 and The Goon. Although there is a strong horror element to the story I would like to emphasize that is a very 'fun' story and its something i'm not only extremely proud of but something which I think a lot of people would enjoy. All three issues are written and ready to go!

Unfortunately, I have zero budget for this, so I can't offer payment upfront but what I can offer is 50% of all profits and copyrights, ect. So, if any of you talented lot are interested then please email me at stuperrins1@gmail.com with some samples.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks.

Creative Common / Steam punk Audrey Hepburn
31 August, 2016, 09:17:37 AM
Hey guys,

I'm on the look out for an artist letter for a new project.

The project is a miniseries called 'Amelia Bloodstone:The Miracle Child' and the concept is this-

What if James Bond was an 1890's steam punk Audrey Hepburn?

The tone of the story is a mixture of Penny Dreadful, Hellboy, The Goon and 007, and the intention is to make an out and out fun adventure story.

The script to issue one is literally a day or two away from completion and is something I'm extremely proud and happy with.

Unfortunately, I cannot offer payment upfront, but what I can offer is an equal share of the profits once the book is published which has I've already discussed the series with a publisher shouldn't be much of a problem.

So, if any of you talented lot are interested please email me at stuperrins1@gmail.com with some samples.

Thanks.

Creative Common / Help get 'THE GIRL' into the UK
25 August, 2016, 04:06:41 PM
Howdy,

Has some of you maybe aware, myself and Pat O'Donnell (the artist) recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for our six issue ultraviolent, sci-fi, murder mystery epic called 'The Girl'. The series has found itself a publisher in Insane Comics and will see the book stocked in stores and comic cons across the States, which is why this kickstarter was created. There are very few avenues for the book to be available in printed form in the UK, and the idea is that if this campaign is successful (and we hope it is) all funds will be used to get The Girl into as many UK comic stores and conventions as possible.

The Girl is melting pot of OTT ingredients, and is probably (if a little arrogantly) described as a cross between The Umbrella Academy and Terry Gilliam's Brazil with 2000ad's satirical edge.

The concept?

A clone of an unknown secret agent is being pursued by not only her creator but also the police. As the series progresses we discover who she was cloned from and why Planet Earth's last remaining superhero 'Dr Deathless' is so intent on protecting her.

If there is anyway of any of you can help we would greatly appreciate it, and please check it out.

Thanks.

If you get a few spare minutes, I'd really appreciate it if you checked out the kickstarter campaign for six part ultra-violent sci-fi epic 'The Girl' Written by me with art by Ron Gravelle. The series is going to be published by Insane Comics, but has IC are a U.S. publishers there are few avenues for this comic to be available in print format in the U.K., hence why this campaign was created. All funds raised will go towards the comic becoming available in U.K. comic stores and conventions.

Please help us in anyway you can.
