General / my name is death...
29 August, 2002, 06:25:41 PM
Hey, I just had a crazy thought.  Remember My Name is Death?  Course you do.  Fastastic stuff.  Anyway, we were all a bit phased by the ending, Death escaping, and thought maybe it leads into a new epic or something.

I was just on rebellion.co.uk, and noticed under Dredd Vs Death it said that it'll fit into continuity with the comics.  I thought, how's Death going to escape, hang on... He already has.

Who else reckons My Name is Death was designed to lead into the game?  Please don't tell me I'm slow.

General / accepting other genres..
14 August, 2002, 03:32:33 PM
Don't you reckon, as 2000ad/Megazine are really the ONLY British comics (and probably the best comics around; American stuff doesn't even come close), we should accept more genres into the pages?  I mean, when Andy Diggle arrived, it became the Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror anthology, but do you think it just should be whatever is good?

I've heard people saying "yes it's a good story, bloody fantastic actually but it's not 2000ad material".  I think we should have whatever's good full stop.  Most of it will still be sci-fi, but we should accept more different stuff.  That way we can have some cool crime/action strip runing where Steve Moore usually pisses all over us with Telguuth.

Just a thought.

Just out of intereset...

Was Perry Farrel in Jane's Addiction?  I'm pretty sure he was, wasn't he?

He was in Porno for Pyros, I know that for sure.

General / audio promotions

I just had an idea about the new Big Finish 2000 AD CDs.

In Doctor Who Magazine they have a preview feature every month to promote the new Dr Who audio from BF.  The feature is one page long with a brief outline of the story and includes a comic strip of a short scene from the audio.  They're drawn by Lee Sullivan and they're quite nice.

Well, how about it?

I'm thinkin of buying a next-gen console.

That gives me choice between X-Box, PS2 and Gamecube.  Screw the Gamecube.

General / Megazine new strips
21 May, 2002, 08:59:21 PM
AFAIK, there's an all new colour slot coming to the Meg soon, making it a total of four new strips a month.  It looks like the Volume 4 ideas worked well and have finally ressurected the Meg once and for all.  I for one think that there should always be some amount of reprint, maybe just something like 20-30 pages at the back of the mag, but we do need new strip.

What does everyone think should come ot this new Meg slot, maybe an old Meg character returning?

General / guess what...
20 May, 2002, 02:47:28 PM
Well, there's the huge selection of backprogs (most 500-800) that I got given.  I looked through and I (gasp) don't have prog 534.

General / Bec & what?
17 May, 2002, 06:55:45 PM
Me, two months ago.

Hmm, you know what two-k needs?  A good lighthearted, earthbased comedy series, drawn by Duncan Fegredo and maybe Steve Roberts.  It should be drenched in fanboy humour, just the way I like it, with a lot of non sci-fi idiocy thrown in.  And if nobody else'll write it, I will.  When I can be arsed.

Me, Two weeks ago.

General / spaced

A little while ago (mid last year) here in Oz we got series One of Spaced.  Was there a second series?  Third? Does anybody know of when ABC Video will deign to release the DVDs down here?

It just suddenly struck me that I need more Spaced since Black Books finished here last night.

This new strip Judge Death: Hi, My Name Is

It's only a six parter before being replaced by I think Tor Cyan in his last ever story.
Now six parts is not much room for a story.  Do you reckon it could be a prologue to a larger story to come in the worlds of Dredd?  Could this be... (cue music)... the calm before the storm?

Well?

General / steve moore
16 April, 2002, 05:14:10 PM
When Steve Moore came back to the fold when Telguuth started, Tharg told us all that he was a comics genius, even Alan Moore loved him and we were lucky to have him back and we'll take what we're given.

What a load of f*ck.

All his Future Shocks have poor unrealistic dialogue and silly resolutions, Telguuth is equally dumb and his major stories were... RedFang and Killer.  Nuff Said.

Is he the overall 2000AD editor, or just the Weekly editor?

Which prog was his first?

He's Cyber-Matt, isn't he?

General / black+white
27 March, 2002, 05:18:03 PM
There's been a lot more black+white art in 2k since nemesis book 10, and most of it has been very nice.  Now to the point.
Who else wants to see some black+white dredd again?  there hasn't really been any since about the early nineties coz everyone reckons colour's better but B+W can be good too, if not better.  we had black and white sin/dex.

General / longer stories
08 February, 2002, 08:23:12 PM
don't you reckon stories could just sometimes be longer than 8-12 episodes?  We need another 15+ episode epic.  dante or dredd preferably.

Living in Oz I just got prog 1275 today, and I take it 1276 is now out in the UK.  Without spoiling anything, has Shakara got a story yet?

General / letter printed... new prize
30 January, 2002, 06:55:43 PM
Today I got a package in the post with the usual "letter prited" note in it.

Congrantulations earthlet, bla bla, bla,
unfortunately due to a plot by the scheming dictators of zrag our supply of action figures has been halted indefinitely.  please accept your complimentary prize.

Enclosed was a packt of those new 2000 ad postcards, and I was rather hoping for another action figure.

Does this mean that now they send you whatever they have on hand?  Anyone else got anything differnet?

Off Topic / ultimate spider-man
25 January, 2002, 07:54:33 PM
Has anyone else been reading ultimate spider-man?

I normally don't wander out of the realm of 2000ad and dredd because i have no money and because most of the stuff that american companies pulp out just looks shite anyway, but this is an exception.

just finished issue 17, i like this, it's nearly as good as 2000ad.

damn this party sounds alright.  sort makes me wish i were in mother england instead of the penal colony.

i'll just have to be content with reading prog 1280 along with a glass of dirty water and a party popper.
