Alex Cox (Repo Man, Sid & Nancy) has announced that he is directing the film version of Haryy Harrison's novel Bill the Galatic Hero due to released at the end 2014.
He's also gone on Kickstarter to help raise $1 million to help fund the project. He plans to give the film a 60's look & is planning to shoot it black & white with the start & end animated

John Wagner has put on his facebook page that he & Alan Grant are after a copy of this book if anyone is willing to sell them one or swap it for a TPB whatever the seller prefers.

Pat Mills & Kev O,Neill are down at Gosh on 20th Apirl between 2pm & 4pm launching the deluxe edition of Marshal Law. So hopefully will have sent out their £9.59 copies for us to all get down there & get them signed

Bryan & Mary talbot's graphic novel "Dotter of her father's eyes" has just won the 2012 Costa book award for best biography. this is now in the running to take the overal prize to be announced on the 29th January.

Well, well, well seems Kapow won't be returning in 2013. A statement from Lucy and Sarah states as much

Dear Friends,

Due to an increased workload in Millarworld and Millarworld Productions, we will not have time to arrange another wonderful Kapow! Comic Convention in 2013.

Sarah and I have had to make a very tough decision, and after much deliberation and poring over upcoming work schedules, we have decided to put Kapow! 2013 on hold. The event is a genuine pleasure to work on and everyone has been a total delight, but this year we are unable to dedicate the time necessary to deliver a weekend that once again exceeds the expectations of attendees, guests, exhibitors, publishers and studios.

Millarworld Productions first TV show 'Pavilion of Dreams' is scheduled to air on BBC One Scotland on Jan 3rd at 9pm and in 2013 both myself and Sarah will be heavily involved in the development and production of various TV shows and feature films.

We hope to return with an even bigger and better show for Kapow! 2014.

Seems that that "San Diego Comic Con of the UK" , yeah really, will be back in 2014. I find this odd as Kick Ass 2 is out in 2013 and would have thought it would be a perfect platform to launch it.

However, the show's producers talk about helping to "curate" or "downsize" your collection, which smacks of it being one of those Hoarding Intervention shows.

I was in my local comic store today & they told me that IDW are doing a store specific variant cover for all stores that buy over 500 copies of the new Dredd comic. they don't know what the exact details are on the design yet & should get the full details in the next few days, but think it would be a standard variant cover but with the individual store's name on the cover.

The guys at Fantasyevents.org are organizing the Comic Expo Ealing at the Ramada hotel on Sunday 18th Sept. The special guests announced so far are Mike Carey, John Higgins,  Paul Cornell, David Hine, Sally Hurst, Roger Langridge & Rian Hughes if anyone is interested

As part of Ace Comics in Colchester 30th birthday celebrations they have got Kevin O'Niell & John Watson down for a signing on Sunday 4th September betwen 11am-2pm

Bad news, after waitng over 3 years for the collected edition of Marshal Law to be published Kevin O'Niel & Pat Mills have parted company with Top Shelf comics. but good news whilst at SDCC they were approached by DC comics & are now in negotiations to publish Marshal Law instead

Just thought you would be interested that whilst speeking to Pat Mills today he confirmed to me that Matt Smith has given him the goahead to write Flesh book 3 with a new up & coming artist James? He wouldn't tell me anything about the storyline, but said it would be a classic Flesh story with a modern twist & ignoring the previous stories from the 90's (including his) as he always felt that they didn't sit well with the original stories

just found on twitter at PatMillscomics that he has started putting pages from his classic 80's story "Metalzoic" up on his facebook page "Pat Mills Lost Stories". So far he has put up the first 18 pasges of the original colour DC comics version instead of 2000ad's black & white one. He is hoping to find & put more of his old stories on there as & when he can find them.
