Yes. I bought it recently off Amazon. You probably wont read it in one sitting. It'll be more of a case of dipping in to it every now and again.

Did Ron Smith draw these while he was still working on the regular 2000 AD strip or did he do them instead of the weekly strip?
He was working on both at the same time.

I'd completely forgotten, but I have a page / strip from Garth by Frank Bellamy.

E171 "Garth, are you a soldier of that little flea General Custer..." in the following image:

I did once see it in a collected Titan edition in the mid-eighties, but I was a kid and only had enough money to buy back progs - Titan collected albums were for christmas, and The Ballad of Halo Jones was about to come out!

The idea that PJ becomes a DJ is delicious, to me. Wagner is of course possibly misdirecting readers with the 'black voice', but if this conversion does pan out, he will have fulfilled his 'major character death' promise too. While upping the ante further, losing none of the cast. Grud, this is a great story.
Perhaps he could become a (musical) DJ at the Rabbit Hutch...

Well, I finally got to spend some time with the collection.  It is really lovely.  I was amazed how many of the early strips were still in my old memory banks - they just took a little jogging...

I'm pretty glad I bought this rather than going for the old Mega Collections.  It was tickled pink discovering previously un(re)printed strips.

I hope the 2nd volume holds up to this though I'm not so sure the quality of story telling can hold up to the early stuff.  Either way, I can't wait to find out. :)
The second volume will have some absolute classics, though quality may dip thereafter (still want to get them all though).

It's the same black brain voice as the one that's been quietly forgotten in the last couple of Strontium Dog stories and will conclusively prove whether or not Joe and Johnny share a timeline.

perhaps its the voice of the Black Horse that mysteriously appeared then disappeared in Dredd?
It's the Monad from the End of Time, the gestalt entity comprising all of the descendants of humanity which were processed by the Terminators, and including Dan Dare (still trying to clear his name), Tyranny Rex, Blackhawk and all the other lost souls that have vanished from the pages of the GG over the years.

Ah, I'm unable to edit my post. I partly included it as way of warning in case they approach anyone here too, but fair enough.  Mods please feel free to remove the name or delete that post...
Though from the link posted filled with a host of comments that it was a scam, it doesn't look like a reputable company anyway...

When Marvel started producing comics in the UK, it felt like a bad dream when the weeklies changed format. And in the new Hulk comic the (other) green skinned behemoth went all TV Hulk on us.

Is that Moore Steve or Alan?

As always, an excellent haul and well worth the money anyone pays out for these. Remember, Eamonn saves you on purchasing a convention ticket, travel costs, food, drink, wear and tear on your shoes and a day sweating your bollocks off, so go get 'em!
And if you go to a Southern Contingent gathering then I'm sure you'll save Eamonn the P&P as well!

Jaegir is just great and given this run ends before Prog 2000 I assume this is the set up for what will follow - looks intriguing.
From Tharg's Nerve Centre in Prog 1996:
QuoteWe welcome back Kapiten-Inspector Atalia Jaegir this prog for four-episode story Warchild, brought to you by the regular script and art team of Gordon Rennie and Simon Coleby, that sets up the next arc of this popular series...

I'd be wary about including the name of the company in this thread, as the 2000ADonline forum does get covered by google - and I'm guessing they're a Search Engine Optimisation company from their name?

The company is listed with Companies House, but the company no. Provided in the offer email is not the same as the one listed at companies house. I don't know if that means anything though as their number might correspond to a different register.

There are no phone numbers that I can find at Companies House either, but I will do a search elsewhere for an online companies  phone book.
The only possible registers I can thing of are Companies House and the register of the Charity Commission.  If a private company isn't on the register of Companies House then it is not legally allowed to operate in this country.  This applies equally to large companies like the one I work for and small companies set up so that somebody can put on a gig every few months at their local pub.  The number they've given in the email could be a trading company, but I'd be wary.

Going back to the example of the company I work for - there's one main PLC and a host of other companies within that, including trading arms, manufacturing divisions and the pension scheme (standard practice - held separately so that if the main company goes bust then people still get a pension).  I'll point out here that I work for a respectable company, held in high regard - not one of those that hits the headlines on tax dodges and the like.  There should be some way to connect all the companies though - for instance in my case, the official address of all those companies (about ten in all) is the building next to the one I work in, even though some of the actual places the work is done are in other counties around the country.

I can't remember exactly if I liked or disliked the first book (sorry, phase) of Zenith, but I certainly remember being confused.  Each episode seemed to jump around from the previous, though when I read it now I can't see why I got confused...

Nobody had bid on Bisley's first appearance in 2000AD, signed?  I have now :-)

Concerned this is indeed a scam. You need independent evidence that the company exists as stated and is reputable.

Start by looking them up in the (online) phone book and calling their switchboard. Then ask for HR and make your concerns plain, speaking politely.

If you get this far, they will help. Good luck!
I'm not sure what the process is for a company getting their phone number into the directory, but I doubt it's that rigorous.  It's not failsafe, but try the companies house register.
