Off Topic / Size Matters Again
04 December, 2015, 06:33:55 AM
I'm not really talking about something that personal.....I just got these...

I was going to drill a hole in them and glue them to the inner eye-holes of the rubber mask I altered for my Gandalf costume. The reason for this was that you can't see my own eyes whilst I wearing the mask and it does look odd that way. Because my eye can't align with them properly without glueing them to the rubber mask.

These the size of doll or teddy bear eyes and they only arrived today.

I knew they would, but they were so cheap I ordered them any way.

Aside from the legendary head gear, I wonder about dark kilt or long coat or frock jacket with sleeves of fur.

Sorry if that picture doesn't show, it's the only one I can find in images.

At first I thought he might have been wearing some like this....

The one on the left because it's darker and that seems to suit him more.

Yet, after looking closer, I notice that it most probably only the sleeves and mid-section that are covered in fur and the rest of his tunic is made from the same material that covers his head and legs.

Looking closer at one of his pictures on towards the end of Tomb of Terror where the top half of him is shown in detail. It looks like somebody wearing the strange gear like Batman's cowl covering the head and shoulders, but then it changes like two men wearing two sets of clothing have been dissected just below the shoulders and sown back on the other half pf the other man and one of them thrown away. As the cowl suddenly merges his strange sixe breasted chest plate. (What else would you call that?) Not sure if the fur extended all the way down the frock or kilt part of his dress. This part is probably dark leather or something less durable but just as dark with hem showing common Celtic weave.
Then he appears to have a sporran or pouch round the front with a triple spiral design. Some smaller coin pouches hanging off to the left and a ornate dagger or small sword hanging from the right off of his large segmented girdle belt. Obviously design to protect everything between the leg and his rib cage.

Not sure if that's metal or just leather, most probably some cheap.  The shoes look like common old world dark loafers. if they were around back then.

Otherwise, I'd optimise this with the long furry frock coat shown above and those dark leathery platform boot I brought a fortnight ago.

Wanting to know more, because I wish to make his costume for the next convention.

Off Topic / This isn't Middle-Earth...But

Not happy I didn't get my costume finished the way I needed it to be.......didn't realise my father had given away most of his tool when I went to look for them in the shed. So, that was that for my LARPish and totally legal wooden sword and compound staff of Gandalf the Grey. Although, I couldn't the nagging voice in my head that it's okay to cheat, everybody does....I should use the actual replica version that I do own already. (Except my older brother conficated my sword and scabbard and apparently only temporily!) and that I'm really awesome

There were few other things like sowing a blue-grey hem into those robes along every edge and some of that very same felt sown into the hem of the hood in the more conical shape of his hat without the brim.

Yet, my sowing skills remind unused and untested.

The other disappointed was that I was turned away from the front door. Because the admission was forty dollars and not the more affordable thirty to thirty-five I noticed  it was on the website. Sure this might have ben in U.S, dollars, but I doubt since this is a Australia only convention. It's made fro us Aussies

Where I missed the likes of.....

Barbara Eden famous as the Genie from I Dream of Genie. Who I once mistaken a actual prostitute I had have the pleasure of experiencing. Not actually her, but a woman around about my age that reminded me a lot of her. Good times, that was heaven then and there....   Would avidly watch this show just for a glimpse of her belly button and would love to have heard her call me master.

Babara Feldon] was well remembered as 99 from the original series of Get Smart. Did you ever wonder if the male lead from Star-Gate Atlantis sometime resembled Don Adams her original co-star on Get Smart. Gary Oldman differently the guy from head of C.H.A.O.S. and never was. Remembering the remake nearly ten years ago. I figured Alan Arkin a excellent choice for the Chief and that silly guy from the American version of The Office. Funny, but not good for Maxwell Smart

IT's getting hot in here must be .... her name! Old joke from her appearance on the Big Bang Theory. I feel like crying now!!!!

Might have asked him about the similarities between Star-gate SG-One and Slaine -Time-Killer Then again....maybe not such great idea, as more of a security guy than a ambassador.

You know it just occurred to me that I might like to see him as the Warped-One and Simon Pegg as the other one. Proving Nick frost loses enough weight to qualify as member of the Red-Branch-Knights and to be kind of or partially warped as he is most of the time. No offence intended there. They are begging to both be Slaine and Ukko, a partnership made in the lands of the Earth-Goddess, because that might be as close as you get to being in heaven when in the land of the young. I name him most ultimate choice for the role of Slaine. Just a pity he's so short.

David Yos and Karen Ashley.....

Never was into them Power-Rangers, maybe if I was almost twenty years married with a wife and children now in their late teens.  I did go and see the film and was impressed with some of the enemy types. The ones that did some perform a dance routine. I think if I remember correctly. They just don't do it for me. This what you get when too diversity is allowed into a film or series.

You know what I mean.

And lastly him......Peter Mayhew makes a return to the Nova-Con and this time it would be the second time we were both in the same room. Makes my eyes water just trying to look up at face.

Yet, I ever got in. Maybe they decided to make thing harder for me since Gandalf the Grey is a potential terrorist risk.  I did wish I had hung around for some admirer to lend me the difference in money to get in and see these rare people. yet, I thoughtlessly just stormed off to the line up behind the only A.T.M., and then to the nearest rest-room. Which was the baby-change room where I ripped off my beard and wig and mask and robes, and journey over the river into the CBD to ask my brother for some extra money, but then I realised it was sunday and his office was shut.

Strange thing was that it took longer for me to walk from the convention centre than I expected it to be. Which runs almost along side and across the street from the Cultural Center and Brisbane Museum, which runs along side and across the street from the South Bank Parklands I have told you about this place before....

Strange because I had walk around the block completely after only turning a corner once to head where I thought was the parklands, but I ended up right where my father had dropped me off before I eventually made it to the parklands and the bridge going back across the Brisbane river. Strange, but true, this happened to me once before after catching a bus back from Byron Bay to Tweed-Heads one New-Years-Day in the recent past. it's like the streets had re-arranged them selves while I was walking them. Like, this place is a some sort of gigantic alien space-ship.

Strange but true, and would a nice moderator like to fix all the images in my post here. So they all work. I can only see three or four of them coming up. Don't worry, nothing rude here.

Film & TV / Just Abit of Fun....
27 November, 2015, 11:36:48 PM
Was wondering last week, what it would be like to hear original Ewok Yub-Nub soundtrack over the ending to Lord of the Rings - Return of the King - Aragorn's Coronation Scene (With it's onw sound-track turned down!)

Just for a few minutes. it fits and sounds suitably ridiculous. I guess if the multiple ending of the latter were sped up into type of montage. It would be more fitting

Film & TV / How Many Thoth's Can You see Before You!!!!
19 November, 2015, 03:30:27 PM
It's question I'd ask any minority or any body really, upset by the lack of a certain minority in this film.

Look like he out numbers the line up for gods in this film.....Horus, Set, Ra, Hathor, Anat and that's about it unless you find out how big their patheon truly is.

Like I did when invest in some magazine that proved to be too expensive for me to keep collecting. It was about the same thing and thee was small figurine with each issue and each issue was about one god, I think.

When I first discovered this film yesterday on FaceBook, there was a lot of talk looking like it came from certain minority about the lack of colour in this film. If you know what I mean. Another Egyptian film populated by just whites or whites in ruling positions if you count Gods & Kings and then I recall the Stargate film and it's series. (Hard to tell who's really in charge there!)

Some of my earlier replies I tried to keep objectional and then I just lost it and said things I wouldn't normally say if alone and outnumbered and then I noticed this poster in the photos section....

Which inspires thoughts of the cheat....he's never lonely....maybe they're just his wings, but what of the tiny head with long round beak.

The God of Wisdom (Written underneath his title!) got me thinking that maybe they aren't really taking this serious since it is obviously fantasy and after thinking he was the god of Maths or numbers, then words and finally writing. I guess I can see the connection there.

I lot of people think I write so much it's not wisdom really, I'm just venting.

I would write something really witty now, but that would be just inconstistant with everything above it and off to bed I go.

Not that I don't relish obsessing over the recently passed on, but after looking at a pictures of this Phil Taylor....... and not being such a fan of metal that never made it to the popular channels I was more accustomed to. Like my head was focused on too many other areas to know Motorhead more than my peers could influence me to at the time. Like, I was already fifteen, when I school friends shared their love of Deep Purple and Led Zepplin with me after my interest in Dire Straits started to wane and more local hard-rock began to appeal to me. LIke The Angels/Cold Chisel/Midnight Oil among other younger artist of those days. Yet, this was after my on and off obsession with KISS, my families interest with ABBA and the Village-People when I was much younger, and my father particular interest in the strictly classical music (Whoever did the soundtrack for the classic Footloose film other than Kenny Loggins!) that I became only interested in with reference to Star Wars, and other popular SciFi or thriller films that John Williams composed music for.

So forgive me if I seem pretentious when I speak of Motorhead, who I could only remember the name of rather than a lot of their music. There were few bands I did like that I still couldn't remember the name of each member and their entire change of line-up from the beginning until now. Except KISS and I still need to Google them just to refresh my memory sometimes.

Looking at a lot of pictures of him with his  big almost spikey hair, that nose, that mouth and the rest of his face. I'm pretty sure Glenn Fabry based his version of you should all know who....

Not just the hair, but his facial expression most of the time!

Who ever still thinks Fabry based this one on himself, show me the money.....

BTW I 'm only really familiar with two of their songs.....Ace of Spades because of the film it was used in and Year of the Wolf because somebody referred me to this one when I was looking for music regarding Wolves.

Off Topic / New Foot-Wear for Gandalf Wanna-Be
03 November, 2015, 05:23:11 AM
Totally missed this, because I went out after finding money from a Steam refund (it was like almost a fortnight overdue!) and this was to buy new shoes for my Gandalf costume for the local convention later this month. Like, I was wearing silver ugg-boots last time that were a touch too big for my feet and I kept stepping out of them. Although, they may have been only size 11 inches which could also be technically to small for me.

Since had brought pirate-like knee-length leg shoe/boot coverings because they were cheaper, I also needed shoes or boots.to put them over. I went for these slip on dark leather formal like shoes to go with the dark plastic-leather polymer of the lower legs covers which had giant cuffs and lacing to add to their authenticity.

I think these might fit over shoes more than they would fit over boots As I was almost going to buy myself a pair of those PVC boots made from rubber, but none of those were in my size and they kind of break the immersion.

Anyway, those boot/shoe coverings have a strap that goes under that gap (Between the heel and toe portion of what ever foot wear I choose to wear with these!) and around the other side.  So, something with a heel arrangement rather than totally flat soles is best for these.

The shoes I brought are size eleven inches, but so narrow that after hour of walking around town in them. and then going to see a film (Check Last Movie Watched Thread!) while wearing them. I had to take them off as I was leaving the my seat and walk all the way home bare footed. My other toes were reddish from tightness.....

You know that reminds of that other problem I said I was having that thread that got locked. I won't go into that

You can see the shoe is more narrow towards the tips and this hurts me and I do have partically wide feet for a fellow my size.

Standing at 5"9 and a bit more than that, I wear between size 10 and 11 footwear,  yet mostly the latter most of the time. Now with that style of show, I might need to go one size up or by at least another half if that was possible. Thinking of returning them, even though I wore them around town and have already have a bit of a crease along the top of them. So, they may either say no, or not give me all the entire thirty I payed for those.

Is K-Mart in the U.K. or is it only Tescos?

Through some loop on one of my payments options I was able to afford the noticeable amount of money I need for these....

because, I now realise, I need something that could pass for Gandalf (The book version!) Middle-Earthern style fashioned by Valarian-Cobblers while giving me three and a half more inches in height.
What would that make me, something roughly at six feet or six one or almost that! I was really wanted the 7 inch platforms, but they just look so wrong....

For Gandalf. Besides, I don't really dress as punk or Goth, I'm more of Bevan or Bogan or Westie going me dress habits only.

BTW Gandalf's real height is supposed to be....

Now that I have started drawing again.....

I got out nearly all my Slaine gn's scattered across the cushions placed on the floor of the garage. Alone with a selection video game magazines and most of my Paladian Rifts source books for....

England (With evil alien versions of Myrrdin Wilt (Merlin) and Guinevere who both belong to weird alien race that want to take over the rest of Rifts-Earth using Camelot. pretending to aid King Arr'Thuu, Prrcyel (Both names, I don't think that would be in true Brythonic, but I could be mistaken and the latter can shape-shift into a serpent!) ) the his Nexus-Knights, Dred (Quite possibly Modred and not the lawman of the fufure!) Galahad (Who sport a Mohawk and is suppose to be a Atlantean Undead-Slayer (If he is the only Atlantean then who are the others descended from!) and the gods Bres the Beautiful (Who became progenitor Fomorian race!) Balor Two (Yep, he's a god but not the actual Balor, but another Fomorian just like him!) Dagda the Good God (The one that owns that Cauldron of Plenty!) Lugh - The Shining One  (IBARR!) and the Milliniem Tree (A natural arboreal construct that made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs....No not really and there are more than a few of these!)

Australia with mutant Koala Bezerkers, (Evolved from the gum tree leave munching teddy bears and still very primitive!) Kang's (Giant Kangaroos that can be used for mounts! Pictures on the front cover!), Mokole (Evolved Crocs that use hi-tech gun weapons!) Giant-Cockroaches. (The bad guys!)

Atlantis A Multi-Dimesional-City owned by ruthless aliens called Splugorth and this some multi-species slave trade market as well. Ley-Lines powered by undiscoverered pyramids.

Lemuria  and if you know this place the way I do, it is actually the huge island that sank before Atlantis and the latter was supposed to what was left of it above the waves, the most mountainous region of it. Now it's own island, but back then and not really now. I haven't much into this one except that it's place under the sea and with lots of exotic weaponry and swimming creatures. That make excellent pets and can be used for mounts as well.

Various other related books from the same Rifts series (Not to be confused with the MMO of the same name!) that help fill in the gaps and flesh it out more. One about Dragons & Gods and others about the Old-Ones (Their own intrusion into Cythulu myths!) and Fantasy (What if Rifts was Dungeons & Dragons or Lord of the Rings!)

I just want to redraw my own version of Slaine and this is connected with that short film or trailer I said I wanted to make some time ago.

Going back over computer mags and the photo artwork on the back cover of one and this had something to do with the latest in a line of games based on old a Wolfenstein game that I was never interested in enough to ever complete.

Continued Later....

Music / The Honrned God - Has Anybody Heard Them?
31 October, 2015, 09:31:16 AM
Found out about these guys....

While looking for any artwork with Drune-Swords featured in them.

For something else.

Not sure how long they have been around, but they even rename themselves after characters from Slaine.....

See here[/b] or rough facsimile of original character names and their songs inspired by Slaine with lyrics mostly taken straight from the pages.

I found this video as well, but that was all I could find about them aside from a interview and a bit of their History

Games / New Far-Cry Game looks interesting..
20 October, 2015, 01:49:31 AM
Mostly because time has been rolled back about 12000 years to the stone age.....

Far-Cry-Primal

Like I read it somewhere that isn't just insanity to do the same thing over and over again.

Which is why this one is different.

Film & TV / My Favourite Cartoon Screen Casts....
17 October, 2015, 11:23:56 PM
Since talking about those other well know live action adaptions of Scooby-Doo, Speed-Racer and The Finstones and to avoid deviating that thread and further....

I continue it her about what the title says.....

You'd think this one about the future family sit-com or scifi-drama might have been made by now after the success of it's almost exact opposite about the life of times of stone-age family.

I have fond memories of sitting down to bowl of Coco-Pops and orange juice during the school holidays with this or some other popular cartoon on the television in front of me....

After a pre-emptive Google search, I found some body else had similar ideas to mine......

I don't suppose I should share them here, but compare and just show my own.....

Two possible choices from me here......

Who closest to the role of George in my mind, until I noticed this fellow when I watched We're the Millers.

Who's seems like a more accurate characture of George minus the pot belly and it might also be possible to imagine the rest of the family from the film I saw him in was the rest of the family from this cartoon.

Yu could imagine that they were doing this when that made the movie, and then changed they're minds for some reason.

More to discuss, but later, time for sleep, now.

Film & TV / THe Fomorian
09 October, 2015, 08:19:55 AM
This one had completely evaded my radar when this was made  about eight years earlier or may be earlier.

Short and Disappointing, maybe they had something better planned, not with budget restraints.

Looks more like Goblin, bit the unfortunate Celt and slow turned into a Fomorian. That's was my last summarisation.

Games / New Warhammer Games
03 October, 2015, 03:22:54 PM
Aside from the new Total War game, all the Dawn of War games, Space Marine and Space Hulk/Ascenion.....

Warhmmer 40 K - Regentcide If you want to play Chess......Marines VS Orcs - Purchased!

Warhammer Fantasy : End Times - Vermintide Five Heros Vs Skaven in Epic Co-Operative.....Now Available!

Warhammer 40k Death-Watch - Enhanced Edition Marines Vs Tyranids - Turn based. Available: 16th October 2015

Warhammer 40k - Storm of Vengeance   Marine Vs Orcs - A pivotal moment in Warhammer 40k history

Warhammer 40k - Armageddon Steel Legion and Marine Vs Orcs - Turn Based - Ready To Play

Warhammer 40k - Kill-Team Marines Vs Orcs Vs Tyranids - Ready to Play

Warhmmer 40k - Battlefleet Gothic Armada Marines vs Chaos Marines on Battle Ships in Space - RTS - 2016

That last one came as surprise to me.

Bloodbowl Two Everything from Warhammer Fantasy in their own version of American Grid-Iron.  A game fill with humour based on the board version, which had played with friends on numerous occasions and had brought the previous instalments of the pc game. Was initial interested, but lost interest when I realised it's a even more tedious game played between me and the computer with just the same people/creatures sitting on seats around the stadium and the same cheer- squads. It did get dull for me not long afterwards.

Lets hope the appeal of this one last longer....it does look more spontaneous, more detailed and better game play, something that's more inspiring, both commentaters are for the very time shown. I didn't know the Wood-Elf was really a Vampire.

yes, I brought this as pre-order just recently and it was only today I saw that it had been out, possibly since sometime last month after I sent them money. Unfortunately.... right now,  I don't have the hard-drive space to install this game, but I have been uploading several videos that seem to have finished doing just that over the late afternoon and night...it's now 24 past 12 Sunday morning.

Help! / Looking For Faster Uploads
26 September, 2015, 06:33:45 PM
I been uploading videos and being forced to delay my video gaming while I have not enough lot of hard drive space and rather than endure any more of this nonsensical waiting more than a day, week, month, for my work to be immortalised on You-Tube.

So far I have dabbled with....

Handbrake and Wonder-Share Video Converter

Which converts my video files to smaller MP4 or at least that's what the former does, while the latter need more hard-drive space to work.

Now, Mp4 files cannot be normally used on my computer. Perhaps not with out finding the right apt to read them and while upload way faster.....like within half a hour. yet, they never process, well, not right not as instaneously as they upload and I just had to shut them down before my face fell back in my hands again.

Not sure why You-Tube can't deal with those the same way it did my earlier video files......just looked at my video files in properties right now and they are suprisely MP$ files. Not sure if that had any thing to do with recent meddling around with Handbrake and I'm not sure I know how to use that one properly. I may watch another video tutorial If I get desperate.

I have also some apt that stabilises shaky videos. That may be, it's specialty and perhaps it may also be some sort of upload manager. That's how I found it, but I can't get the flipping thing to work.

Then there is Mega-Manager which needs me to register on webpage that can't be found. So, I think it's too old and now defunct to be used, but I'm was still bale to download it.

And then there is Get-Right. Which I don't have the patience to learn to use without a tutorial right now. I may do this, but I......

I like some help here as well??????

Off Topic / Thryll-Seekyr - My Very First Website
05 September, 2015, 01:15:11 PM
Some of you might recall a post or thread here about me promising to leave the forums here after some incident that left me felling very unsatisfied. I was told that I should start my own website and use that place to write all the stuff I most often write up here. Under the guise of being something that I thought belongs and to my dismay, the mods don't and quite a few of you agree.

I have followed the link to that site called Blog-Spot and found myself face to face with a huge wall of words (Who would do that!) I didn't want to read more than a few lines of at all.

Anyway, I decide to try again today through a Google search and started to design my very onw web pages with a little help from a template, but everything else is my own work.

Of course, it doesn't open up, because I got to pay for the bleeding thing to be published and even if I go for the cheapest option and I still got to pay about 90 dollars up front before I get any further.

Here is a video showing off my front-page.

Off Topic / Something Was Dragging Down Below....
01 September, 2015, 10:44:58 AM
Before, I had accidently tripped the extension lead connecting my PC to the power outlet.

I was in the middle of one of my long rants which started with my personal issues revolving around the messing of my personal property and then this lead into the another tale about how I had misplaced my bankcard earlier last fortnight and I'm still waiting for the replacement to arrive next Friday after reporting it for the first time yesterday.

I though the card along with the special protective lead alloy cases that protect them from being scanned when you least expect them to be. Also containing other hard to replace cards ranging from medical to the other credit card I own.

So today, I embarked on a journey to the neighbouring suburb where the nearest shopping center and my bank are. To get a bit of money for some much need junk food and refreshment.

It was in the bank that I had started negotiations without any I.D. other than my Pension card. I can't even get a licence and don't have one of those 18+ things. They had to go by my signature and some personal questions about my balance and when I last used my account and I was able to get the amount I needed.

Not it's major bummer I could order the carton of Coke-Zero and potatoe-chips, chocolate bars I wanted from any local store online that would except Pay Pal. The only way I could pay without using the details from my card. Except, Coles-Supermarket-Online which demanded my mobile phone number. Something I don't even own.

So, that why I spent the rest of the afternoon, night an dearly morning playing Elite Dangerous non-stop.

Having to leave the bloody house and travel to nearest suburb other than the one I am in to do this is more hassle than I am prepared do these days. Sometimes, I don't mind the walking and have been doing this a lot late last years, before the heat really got to me. It's about to get warm then hot again as the winter is gone for the year now, I think.

Anyway, I had this strange sensation of some thing dragging from foot and only thought it was my shoelaces coming loose. So, I look down to confirm this and find to my the underwear I was wearing nearly fortnight or month ago was last wearing the dark- denims I had on today.

Strange, that I never noticed this before, and before I thought any body had noticed, and thankfully the bank was mostly deserted of customers. I gather them up and stuffed the trailing end of them into my sock under the hem of my left pants leg.

I spent the rest of my bank session and my short shopping trip.....with why did this a happen. I thought it was prank played on me and then realised that when I last removed those pants, that underwear which went with them must have stayed inside the pants the whole time I had left them on the floor of my room. Don't worry, I only wore them for half a day before I decided to change out of them. With my undergarment meticulously arranged so that I would put one foot through them when ever I got back into them.

Now, I had already put on pair of the skimpy underpants today. So I knew I was wearing those and the underwear that I had to tuck into my sock to hide as they were only hanging from my ankle. Were, more like cotton shorts and as tight as bicycle pants that were cut off at the top of the thigh. They would really pass for a pair of shorts. Just looking at them, but I was still concerned enough to keep stuffing them inside my sock to hide them.

I think it's kind weird right now, that it's become time old habit for a lot guys who worry about such things to go vice-versa and stuff a rolled a up sock into their undies while wearing them. Yet, I never do that myself ;)

I still haven't bothered to remove to retrieve them even now. I'm just so lazy about these things.

Funny story, sorry if it offends and don't you recall the prog with a picture of guy on the back wearing underwear over his head.
