Film & TV / Challenger.

Just watched this fantastic docudrama that was screened on BBC2 last night.

Absorbing, even if you know the story, and fantastic performances.

There's even Judge Lex, Langley Kirkwood, in there giving good chin!

Great low-fi/art house Sci-Fi film that does what the best Sci-Fi films do-explore what it is to be human.

Some wonderful performances-especially from actress and co-writer Brit Marling and there's a killer visual punchline at the end.

Director and co-writer Mike Cahill should be one to look out for.

Film & TV / The Fades

This BBC 3 supernatural/drama series is very much in the Neil Gaiman and Clive Barker mold and is proving to be a very well written and entertaining piece of work, with some suprisingly high production values.

What about a second series BBC?

A new topic to big up up this gripping BBC2 crime drama

Superb performances from all involved and an intense atmosphere it's really one of the finest things I've seen on TV since Edge Of Darkness.

Give it a go if Cop/Crime dramas are your bag.

In anticipation of the new Dredd film.  What do other forum members think of the chances or the wisdom of 2000AD relaunching to tie in with its release?

The Meg' was reset to Issue 1 when the '95 film was released and there was talk of 2000AD doing the same thing.

Should there be a rebranding?
If so, how should this manifest itself?

How could the Prog/Meg' capitalise on the interest generated by the movie?

I would be interested in hearing the thoughts of fellow Squaxxes or creators.

All the best

Interesting news, as long as it doesn't turn out to be another Andromeda Strain.

Film & TV / The Wicker Tree-Wicker Man Sequel
14 September, 2010, 11:27:53 AM
The Wicker Man is certainly my favourite Theological Horror, musical of all time, so I'm looking forward to this long overdue sequel.
And it's got Christopher Lee in it!

General / Judge Dredd The Theme Park Ride!
04 August, 2010, 02:03:31 PM
Spotted this while at the Sonisphere rock and metal festival at the weekend!
Could be a new sideline-hey it worked for Saw and Harry Potter! :)

A dystopian ride through Mega-City One's dark underbelly should just be enough to relieve you of your milkshake and over cooked hamburger!

Oooh! Is that a '95 movie helmet I spot there?

John Carpenter's cult classic gets another deserved screening.

The legendary Kurt Russell does his best Clint Eastwood impersonation and maybe auditions for Dredd at the same time!

General / Cliff Robinson Commission- The Return
18 June, 2010, 02:20:37 PM
Following on from Larf's brilliant commission, here's Cliff's commission for me at it's various stages.

My lovely 'wife to be' asked me how I could best commemorate my forthcoming milestone next year and I could think of nothing better than a commission from one of my very favourite 2000ad artists.

My particular take, was to have Dredd himself rather rudely interupting bithday proceedings and Cliff really came up trumps!

I would also like to reinforce what Larf has stated and say what a really lovely bloke Cliff is to deal with.

Hope you squaxx enjoy!

Stage 1- Rough sketch:

Film & TV / Batman 3 gets a release date.
02 May, 2010, 10:26:06 PM
July 20th, 2012 apparently.
With the proposed new Dredd film due around the same time, it's like 1995 all over again!
