If you're looking for more 2000 AD stuff to get into, you'd probably like Judge Anderson and Strontium Dog. Both written by the same writers as Dredd and both collected in Case Files style books.

Out of interest, how were you introduced to the world of Judge Dredd?

The bold type in the Counterfeit Girl bit is supposed to be spoilered. Can someone do the honours?

I'd just like to point out again, for the sake of being a big toss-pot, that mine arrived last Friday. Truly I am blessed by The Mighty One.

Since I'm the only one with a prog, I might as well review it for my captive audience.

***BEWARE SPOILERS***

The plot thickens in Dredd with more invisible murderers making themselves known, and it looks like they could be [spoiler]Judges, or the "ghosts" of ex-Judges from Titan/Enceladus more likely.[/spoiler]

I get the feeling that Dredd knows exactly what's going on and Sam is the one being tested/investigated.

Some beautiful volcano art from PJ in Hunted as the Southers and Rogue both close in on the Traitor General. There's a great montage of Rogue kicking some Nort arse on his way clobber the crispy faced sod too.

Savage is still on the case, trying to unravel the mystery of the Thousand Year Stare, and the answer seems to lie with a graffiti artist.

How does he get away with running a bar in Berlin without anyone recognising him, and when did he become fluent enough in German to pass himself off as a native?

The time-buggering shenanigans perpetrated by evil big business in Flesh have moved the dinopocalypse forward 1,000 years, and a big meteorite is going to hit in SEVEN DAYS! How will our heroes survive?

I'm enjoying Clint Langley's art on this a lot. The black and white style gives it a look of an old monster movie which suits the story perfectly. Gorehead vs Megacroc next week by the looks of it.

Counterfeit Girl continues to delight, not least for its stunning art and design work from Rufus. The perpetrator behind Libra's virus is revealed as [spoiler]Albion Starflight himself, who is using it to blackmail our heroine into taking up her Dad's old post in his organisation.[/spoiler]

Really enjoying this one. It's crying out for an eye-watering collected edition.

Not a bad story in the crop at the moment. Keep it up Tharg.

If it turns out that I'm the only one who's going to be receiving their prog from now on, I'll be happy to vaguely describe the contents every week in a similar manner to above.

Mine arrived last Friday for some reason...

As far as I can remember, Pat Wagons are specifically for picking up perps, 'H-Wagon' is a catch all term for any hovering (H) vehicle, and the Manta is the big flying death saucer thing with what looks like a Judge's helmet stuck on top for a cockpit.

Just from what I can remember from reading, so apologies if it's vague.

Saw the link that Frank posted on Facebook and filled it in.

I shared it too as I have a couple of lapsed Squaxx mates amongst my virtu-friends.

They were never going to cast an East Asian actor as the lead because there are no East Asian actors with the requisite "star power" to sell a big budget science fiction film like this.

This is, of course, because East Asian actors are cast in films so rarely that they never get a chance to become very big stars in the first place.

Vicious circle innit?

I can't read Frank's review of Jerusalem because he's (presumably) mispelt Alan Moore as Anal Moore and the firewall at work is blocking it...

Just to add to add to all the love in the room, it was a great read.

Perfect mix of misty eyed nostalgia for the golden age and a well deserved celebration of the current platinum(?) age.

I feel very lucky to be part of this cool club and can't wait to see what the next 2000 progs bring us.

Oooh, I love (no pun intended) Macross, but it is an acquired taste. The robot/fighter plane action spliced with sugar-sweet J-pop and soppy teenage love triangles is a formula repeated in every iteration and it works better in some incarnations than in others.

If I might be so bold as to give you viewing suggestions, I'd say miss Macross II (not canon), jump back in with Macross Plus, skip Macross 7 (horseshit), then watch the Macross Zero miniseries which is a prequel to the original series before finally soaking in the high camp of Macross Frontier.

By the time you've grown accustomed to the robot/pop/love triangle formula in the others, Macross Frontier's frequent tonal u-turns won't seem so jarring. And the soundtrack, by Yoko Kanno, is actually pretty fantastic.

There's a new series airing at the moment called Macross Delta, but I haven't had a chance to see that yet.

wish they ahd used a ricochet though - the hot shot thing doesnt really make a lick of sense . If he can safely hit his head with a projectile, why not just a standard execution shot?

Hot shot gives a more impressive gruesome death and it would have been odd if Dredd had called the guy 'Ricochet'

It annoyed me that in the comic, a hotshot is actually the nickname of the heatseeker bullet, not the incendiary.

I soon got over it though.

Has anyone seen that new Amazon advert which uses the song played in the drug bust scene in Dredd?

I took it as a personal affront for some reason.
