Dave Gibbons "blessing" is brilliantly ambigiously worded.

Film & TV / Re: The Thing (2011)

Some friends saw a preview of it last week (again all big fans of the Carpenter).  General conseus was that it was alright.  Not great but not rubbish, with a few nice homages to bits of Carpenters.  They were a bit disappointed by the amount of cgi, but said when it was used it was done well.

Does anyone know if the first series of this is likely to be shown on terrestial TV?

I suspect not.  I think the terms of Sky's deal with HBO are pretty exclusive.

Prog / Re: Prog 1762: Zero Mercy

I thought Angel Zero was alright this week.  I've thought its been fine, without being anything particularly special, but this weeks kicked things up a gear.  And to be honest, John Burns could draw a bath and I'd want to see it.  I love his art.

Dredd kicks a bit of Sov ass, SinDex lost me ages ago, and Indigo Prime is still going a bit over my head, but in an enjoyable way.

Decent prog, considering we're in a clear the decks phase.  Nice cover too.

What issues of crisis have you got?  I'm after a few of the later ones.

Prog / Re: Prog 1745 : FIRST BLOOD!

Belter of a prog.  The mystery deepens in Dredd.  I'm thinking East Meg at the moment.  Anyway, Wagner is continuing the slow burn build up and it's ace.

The 3rillers finishes satisfactorily.  Liked it much more than the first one, especially the art.  Love the Blackbloods in Savage.  Sin Dex is fine, and Zombo is brilliant ludicrious and ludicriously brilliant.

Beautifully painted cover, even if maybe it lacks a bit of action.  Well done every droid.

Happened to be near Forbidden Planet today so picked up a copy.  The old Kevin O'neill Tharg strip was a right blast from the past.  Odd inclusion if the idea is to attract new readers.  Still nice to see it and a nice little item altogether really.

It's right opposite the far left hand corner (as you look at it) of the  British Museum .   You can't miss it.

I don't recognise those Nemesis colour pages.  Are they from an annual I've forgotten?

I like Halo Jones...but I always felt it was over-rated.

Liked it,(and the art especially in books 2 and 3 was especially good) but never loved it.  It is a verylong time since I read it though.
