I know this ran from 711 -  720, but a friend has asked was there a T Shirt and if so what Prog was it advertised in? BTW not the picture of the organiser holding the T Shirt?

Events / Sector House 13 - The Pit.
17 June, 2016, 04:44:32 PM
Hello all and sundry. Myself and numerous others who were regular attendees at a previous discussion group (now sadly defunct) have set up a new replacement grouping Sector House 13 - The Pit (SH13TP)
We were loathe to let what was in the main a fun, interesting regular meet up fall by the wayside and have acted quickly to fill a much needed thrill requirement.
The meetings will be in the Parlour Bar beside QUB Students Union on the last Friday of the month commencing at 7:30. There are dozens of local squax signed up, qnd we expect 10 - 20 regular attenders. So come along and you'll be made welcome. Zenarcade.  :D

Classifieds / Loads of cheap progs.
14 April, 2016, 06:05:06 PM
This is probably relevant to N Irish/Irish squaxx. There are literally hundreds upon hundreds of old and new progs available in Atomic Collectibles,  25 Lower North Street in Belfast. This isn't a plug for money, but a genuine opportunity for local squaxx to build up their collections.  You'd need to pop in and be nice to Jim the owner (looks grumpy; but likes real comic fans). He'll cut you some amazing deals....I collected literally hundreds of progs, megs, specials and annuals from him for unbelievably little money.  The new progs especially are hard found (as I know through my collecting). Off Topic / STRIKE!
13 March, 2015, 07:52:52 PM
Been on 4 strikes this past 5 years and this was the best day so far. The sense of solidarity and the comfort of everyday workers (like you, me and so many others) making common purpose for basic dignity and social cohesion was a real and joyus experience. Big smiles from NI. Z :D

Music / Ramones remembered
16 July, 2014, 08:56:38 PM
I know a few of you guys on the forum hold the Ramones in as high an esteem as I do and with the passing away of Tommy at the weekend I'm putting this thread up to give anyone who feels the same way a chance to share memories of the band; favourite songs and basically anything else from those jewels in the firmament we call the brothers Ramone.
My first memories of the Ramones was my older brother listening to them in our bedroom in 77; the Leave home LP. I remember Babysitter in particular. After that I fell in love with US Punk Rock and spent my teenage years totally immersed in all things Ramones and much more.
My favourite Ramones LP is still Leave Home and my track of choice (of which there are many) is Oh, oh I lover her so.
I'm terribly upset at the final passing of the original lineup, they were such a formative influence on my life. Gabba, Gabba Hey. Z

Off Topic / Free Louis Suarez
26 June, 2014, 10:36:14 PM
As an objectively shocked observer, after having seen Chiellini 'sneekingly' leaping into Louis Suarez (innocently) open mouth, I am keen to share in the righteous indignation held by other squaxx.
If not, allusions to Fiends of the Eastern Front; Durham Red et al should be fun. Z

It's the Summer; we've got an even numbered year; the Olympics was 2 years ago.....yes, it's that quadrennial celebration of WAG's, dodgy decisions and of course football.
So who wins the battle of the World Cup storylines in 2000ad, is it Super Sam Slade or Manchesters finest: Big Dave???

General / Belfast 2000AD duscussion group.
09 June, 2014, 12:01:42 PM
Hi guys and gals, I've been thinking of having a once monthly get together of local squax in order to discuss the previous months progs, Meg and other matters 2000AD.
We could all meet at a suitable central venue in Belfast pub/coffee shop dependant on choice.
Just putting it out there for suggestions? Z

Off Topic / Best Skiff ever.
12 May, 2014, 09:32:43 AM
Well in the interests of further annoying all and sundry with best things ending in ff, I think the best Skiff (actually 2 of them) are the guard Skiffs in Return of the Jedi. Z  ;)

Just to let any Grant Hart/Husker Du fans know there is a screening of the above doc film on Harts life in th  Voodoo, Belfast followed by a few local bands doing some Du covers and some of their own stuff. Tickets £6 for film or £7 for film and gig at Cqaf.com. sounds pretty good. Z
