awful waste alright. Have to say, i knew f-ck all about him, i never saw Brokeback Mountain and only knew him from that dodgy pseudo-medieval knight thing. But he looks great in Batman, it's a shame he'll never be in a sequel

Portrait of a Mutant and Rage. And I know I'll be slated for it, but I loved the Final Solution (The SD story, that is, not the German policy)

I loved the Apocalypse War, but the whole Bloodline / Necropolis thing is A1 too. And I haven't forgotten about Judgement Day myself, I just think it's shit

Does anybody else think that the Shakara cover is totally unrecognisable as McCarthy's artwork? It's bleeding good all the ame

Wow. Where has he been, the mad bastard? The most recent thing I've seen of his was his Shade the Changing Man covers, and that wasn't today or yesterday, I can tell you. And they were absolutely fucking insane, not your average comic covers by a long shot. Not even recognisable as comic covers in fact, fair balls to DC

'it feels like it shares traits of Dredd world more than I don't know... The Creep, Brit-Cit Brute,Blood of Satanus,Shimura,Fucking Armitage etc.'

I like Fucking Armitage, myself. It's one of the rare cases where I preferred another writer's Dreddworld setup to Wagner's (admittedly very limited) version. In fact, i think you'd be hard-pressed to find another Mega-City apart from MC1 with such a detailed and interesting backstory.
Hang on, I've just had another look at my first sentence. oo, and indeer er, missus

Iive tried to resist the urge. Just walk away. But I can't stop myself, so here goes:

Sorry, but I just can't accept that Dredd and SD are in the same timeline. You might want to squeeze some logic out of it, but for me the worlds are just too different from each to be 20 years apat; other and Johnny's Britain is just too much closer to modern-day Britain to be a post-Brit Cit environment. Incidentally, was America ever mentioned in the Dog?

I haven't read the Slade things here properly. I just thought it was a different Brit-Cit

No hassle, Bolt, don't worry about it. it's probably buried in my house somewhere anyway. Does a description of it count as a competition entry? Here goes:

Judge Dredd, supposed to be squaring up to Hammerstein, but looking much more like he's dancing hand in with him in an in-and-out 'Riverdance' style. Similar to a Celtic homosexual techno-fetishist's wet dream. (BW, pen and ink, 2005).

I think you'll agree this competition is over already - how do I collect my prize?

Er, does anyone still have my Hammerstein / Dredd pen and ink drawing? It looked a bit like a sort of gay Irish dance but I may as well throw it in if it's still floating around out there

Dr X wouldn't like this one bit. (Does that sound a bit like a room name from Jet Set Willy to anyone else?)

Yeah. He also stole the idea behind the excellent movie LXG, and tried to pass off his own substandard version of it with a silly name to avoid copyright problems

I really think you should have a look at the beginnings of this thread to understand the spirit it's in. Not only isn't it Doctor and Quinch, but it also isn't Form Hell, or Hallo Jones either.
So what does the D.R. in The Enigmatic D.R.X. stand for? (couldn't resist it, sorry}

'Alan Moore knows the score' - classic! I said it before, but i'll say it again - in light of tame, piss-weak Britpop, it's a shame their name proved untrue. though i wasn't a massive grebo, i still have the large scar of a failed cheap tongue piercing.

'Black Dosser' sounds dodgy to me, racist stereotyping in comics we can well do without
