Merry Christmas everyone!
Ha! Ha! Brilliantly daft as ever, Pete..! And I do believe your singing is getting better...! ;)
Merry Christmas, fellow Squaxx - let the festive festivities commence! :D
Pete - your're a brave soul for singing on youtube! When will it be available on i-tunes?
I was viewing the vid, speakers blazing, and my wife came in the room wondering what the drokk I was watching haha
Marry Christmas & well done!
That was brilliant, Pete. Definite improvement on the singing. And with a message and all!
How the hootin' heck is anyone going to top that?! :o :D
Wells done Pete, Wells done.
Hi Pete, that was brilliant! :)
The Albert Hall beckons for Pete and Armand, surely? Great stuff, Pete!
I would like to thank Armand for his stellar work in this year's Advent Calendar*.
*And Pete Wells too.
Magnificent as ever Mr Wells.
Since we chatted at Thought Bubble I now know where the inspriation for this stuff comes from. He does for a living folks... no really he does.
Thanks for the (overly) kind words lads!
Great stuff from the awesome Mr Ming today, some of those songs had me giggling! The aliens were brilliant too!
Arh Ming that eye ball, that eye is a touch of genius!
You can bet yer bottom dollar I'll be singing "Drokkin' Around The Christmas Tree" instead of "Rockin' Around" from now on...
Lovely stuff, Ming! :)
A great couple of first festive treats to start things off. Merry drokkin' Christmas everyone!
Haha Ming! Is that 33rpm or 78? All you need now is a late night advert!
Nice one you musical pair. (And Armand)
Thanks for the kind words, folks! This was a joint effort with the boys - the Alien Tree with sentient tinsel was entirely down to Feliks. I started off just making Dredd in a Santa hat and the first white bobble bit I found had an eye and that led swiftly to Alien Town.
Discarded song titles included:
- I Saw Mommy Arresting Santa Claus (a tale involving an extra-judicial liason)
- Happy Xmas (Apocalypse War Is Over)
- Fairytale of Big Meg
- Away in an Iso-Cube
- Far, Far Away on Judda's Plains*
- Good King Wenceslas; Just Plain Creep to Me
- Resyk you Merry, Gentlemen
- O Little Town of Big Meg One
* an admittedly obscure one (Far, Far Away on Judea's Plains)

I was going to add a record label logo to this but failed miserably; a couple of years back I submitted a Fatty-based music compilation (Wide Christmas) - that was released on Pie Records, naturally.
Resyk your buried gentleman - surely
Some of thoservice unused titles are GOLD!

That's a big improvement, Colin! I'd tweak it slightly further to Resyk
unburied gentlemen, maybe.
Resyk unburied gentlemen
And lady stiffs as well
We rarely process living cits
As far as we can tell
We gather valued body parts
And some that really smell
Recycling of cits brings comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
Recycling of cits brings comfort and joy
The Judge Child Quest it ended
When Angels met their fate
But Fink returned for vengeance
And hoped t'was not too late
With Par-a-ly-zin pi-zen
And fine Ratty his best mate
Recycling of cits brings comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
Recycling of cits brings comfort and joy
etc.
Or in praise of the scalping robots of Grunwalder's territory.
Grud rest ye hairy metal men.
Shit! First one to comment on the wrong thread! Sorry! Only day 3 as well..! :o :-[ :-[
Fabulous work, as ever, from Eamonn, the nicest guy on the Planet!
Yes indeed, great stuff from everyone so far but extra props to Eamonn for his tireless fundraising efforts. I'll be making a donation shortly.
Great stuff from Steven Denton this morning!
Zarjaz
Ah, there's nothing like a ghost story at Christmas..!
Great stuff, Steven - cracking art as always too! :)
Brilliant Steven and Niki - a proper comic!
Grand work Steven & Nikki- really enjoyed that.
Thank you :D
I have been trying to complete a strip in time for years! I have no idea how David Broughton managed to get all his full colour epics done so quickly!

I think he started them in March!
Great stuff, Steven.
Sooo, that was easily up there with the best Christmas Dredds, right? Well done Steven and Nikki, just a perfect atmosphere.
And Eamonn's raffle, ooooh mama, I'm so in for that.
Great work Steve and Nikki! Very Dickensian.
Very generous raffle Eamonn.
Thank you for the nice comments😁
Nice work Jim, very Bryan Ralbot
Awesome work from Mr Denton and Mr Campbell! Merry Christmas fellas!!!
Great stuff from Jim and Steve

It's uh huh gonna be a blue uh huh Christmas.

Outstanding stuff from Jim and Steve! I love the advent calendar so much, it never ceases to cheer and amaze.
Another quality entry from the Denton droid. My second piece is Rogue-themed, too, so my apologies in advance if the calender ends up a bit GI-heavy!
Fantastic art from Mr Campbell and Mr Denton..! Things are getting very festive here!
I had a similar idea to Jim's which I'm glad I didn't go with now, though I also have another Rogue-themed picture to offer myself - but it's only one of many. ;)
Brilliant stuff, guys - well done!
It's such a treat to have this Advent Calendar on the board; a real credit to the place and a joy to see such great contributions and all the effort being put into these.
I love that Grobbendonk, Jim!
Wonderful work from Messrs Campbell and Denton! What a treat this calendar is!
The More Rogue Trooper the better!
I have a Rogue Trooper Christmas story in the current Zarjaz that narrowly missed out being my calendar piece last year.
Great artwork Jim, although I must confess Im not famIiliar with that character.
Steven, What a surprise to see an entire strip! I enjoyed reading it on my lunchbreak today. It had a classic christmas feel to it, I appreciate the effort it must have taken.
And the Rogue is beautiful too, a blue Christmas indeed!
Andy, I love the Angel attack, a well executed idea! That needs to be a Christmas card! (And song) Looking forward to seeing what you do next!
Superb stuff so far.
The nerd hemisphere of my brain did have a slightly neurotic pulsation seeing OG Rogue and his future incarnation Tor Cyan together though ;)
Loving all of this, some fantastic talent out there. Splundig vur Ho Ho Ho!
Excellent work from Andy Lambert! No surprises there. :) The spot the differences is not something you should attempt at the office.
Thank you, Rogue Judge and von Boom :)
Next picture incoming....
Cripes! I need to pick up crackers. Thanks for the reminder. ;) Oh, and fantastic work again.
Lambert, you are a complete lunatic. Fabulous stuff.
Lol... thank you. I think...
Andy Lambert wins the prize for crepiest Tharg. That's so fantastically evil looking. Superb.
Andy mate that Tharg looks creepier than that collection of Santa images you posted on FB. Very well done though. Personally your Mean Angel post is my send-out fave.
Oh dear, totally wasn't my intention to create a creepy Tharg, but I can certainly see it now you mention it...
Oh well, sleep tight... ;)
His creepiness is tempered somewhat by the giant Rowntrees Fruit Gum he's got stuck to his head.
Folks... I may not make my contribution for tomorrow (the 9th). I've had some fairly bad news about an old friend and it's somewhat derailed my schedule. If I can humanly finish it up in time, I will, otherwise I'll carry on working on it and post it up when it's done.
If anyone is in a position to swap a slot later in the month, or if one of the doubled-up contributors fancies filling my slot (oo-err, missus)...?
Otherwise, my apologies for messing everyone about. The advent calendar is one of my high points of the year, and I'm mortified to be in this position.
I 'may' have something finished for tomorrow lunchtime that I can share, so if no-one else is able to step-in, I'll make sure that something is posted for the day.
Jim- hugs.

Cheers, Bolt. You're one of the good 'uns. :-)
I have a few more - hopefully non-creepy pieces - ready to go myself, so I can swap if Bolt-01 can't.
I'm sorry to hear you've had some bad news.
Also - lovely artwork from Allistermac!
I have something that could plug a gap (although anyone who's seen the latest Zarjaz will already have seen it)
Lots of talent on display as usual.
Huge thanks to Andy Lambert for turning my terribly garbled description into exactly what I imagined but knew I could never do justice to. Bravo, maestro!
Glad you like it, DD :)
Nice one Allistermac! Rudolph the red-nosed Warlock!
Thanks Rogue Judge, a lot of great work so far from everyone.
Outstanding work alli-mac and Bolt!
A great Merry Mean Angel by Steve Green and a fab strip by Bolt-01.
Wondrous.
My own artwork is looking increasingly shoddy but hi-ho.
Awesome Ro-Jaws strip Bolt! I especially like the coloring. Looking forward to part 2!
Great Mean as well Steve, tis the season to turn that Drokker up to 4!
Awesome work folks! Seeing as MrLong has taken today, I'll post mine tomorrow. (it's not finished yet, trying to work through a hangover....hic!) ;)
Sorry Darren, just didn't want to let the side down! First time I've took part in the advent calendar.
As usual he standard of artwork and creativity is outstanding!

No need to apologise! Great work by the way. :D
Catching up, though I have been looking every day!
Andy Lambert - Mr Christmas himself! I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at the spot the difference a while back, it's brilliant! All of his other creations ar egenius too!
Allistermac - Making Nemesis the Warlock into Nemesis the Adorable. Brilliant!
Bolt/Robomonkey - Wonderful stuff! Looking forward to reading the rest!
Steve G - Brilliance x 2!
Mr Long - A nice bit of Christmas sauce!
Thanks everyone!
Cracking Christmas stuff from Bolt-01, Steve Green and MrLong - very nice indeed!
For anyone who's interested, here's the answers to the Spot The Difference as promised...

Man that was a tough one - only got 5 of those!
Been a bit quiet on here as of late, as had lots going on (fortunately it has all been art based which is good!).
Anyway have had enough time to catch up on the calendar and what a pleasure it has been. Amazing work by all love seeing what is new everyday.
Anyway thankfully I have also managed to find enough time to get approx. 60% of my own entry complete so should be ready for the 19th. :D
Great colours, Darren!
i am bricking myself for my one these so far have been fantastic
Darren- I just love your pic- can't wait to see the finished version!

Yeah, me too. My upcoming art piece is a bit rubbish due to me not being any good at art (at all).
But terrific work by everyone so far.
Everyone's contributions are greatly appreciated - they're all wonderful!
Fantastic festive offerings from Darren, Albion and Rogue - cracking stuff, chaps!
I know Rebeliion would never allow it, but I can't help thinking all this seasonal artwork - not not just from this calendar, but previous ones too - would make a lovely pack of assorted Christmas cards. Especially for charity. :)
More great artwork and we're not yet half way!
LongTheArtist, great Anderson, sure to keep our...hearts warm this Christmas!
Awesome Nemesis Darren, gorgeous colors as always!
Albion, nice looking Mac Mac! I'll take two...
Well done gents, keep em coming!

They have opened the door to all sorts of game licenses so who knows.
Brilliant work, all.
So I'm up next. Stage fright. Will be with you later on in the day if that's ok?
Beautiful work, James - truly stunning! Looking forward to seeing the finished product..!
Phenomenal work, James. And thanks for taking the 14th. I almost broke the advent calendar.

Sorry about that SS, i was not paying attentions and jumped the gun by an hour, lovely work thought!
What great work from everyone!
Fantastic stuff from everyone so far, but Colin's offering today actually made me laugh out loud, which was much needed — thanks, Colin! Still hoping to get my second effort finished in time...
Great work everyone, and yeah special nod to Colin - very well done.
As always, the work is exquisite. The Danny and Kano strip though shows a level of ingenuity that is worthy of the prog. It captures the sentiments of Watterson's work perfectly, combining with the irascibility that the prog has long been renowned for. On a par with, if not better than, Droid Life. At the very least it should be included in Zarjaz. I suppose the question now is, how do you top that?
Gosh that all very kind and especially good to hear it got the laugh it was after. BUT I should be clear (sorry meant to post this in the main thread), just as last year this is a direct lift from an actual Calvin and Hobbes christmas strip, which is how I was able to capture anything of Watterson's glorious essense!

We know, the genius part is how you've managed to keep it almost identical yet completely different, and so wonderfully relevant to the characters. Even going as far as to give an explanation as to why BC are still alive!
It's brilliant!
Yup, I love that Danny & Kano strip, Colin - cleverly done and the characters were captured really well. Love it!
Congratulations on the success of your raffle Eamonn!

Congratulations on the success of your raffle Eamonn!
Thanks, Von Boom.
For those keeping score that brings the forum running total to £6449.67 raised for cancer research UK.
Going to ease off on the fundraising for a while, although my wife tells me I say that every year!
Eamonn contines to be one of the good guys!
Well done all you wonderful Advent contributors, you're the best!
Once again, absolutely lovely stuff from you good people!
Supersurfer's offering is the cracking cover to a 2000ad annual we never had!
I concur with everyone else regarding Colin YNWA's cartoon strip - so good!
Enjoyed Eamonn's colourful Zombo cover - don't often see this character being used in the art threads. Well done on the money raised too!
Looking forward to the next offering from The Monarch :)
Time for a St Eamonn's med block in Dredd.
Lovely to have the Monarch back, though I can't see his video :(
Steve Green is my hero! What can I say? The Greggs pasties play havoc with me pipes!
didn't realise the vid was on private i fixed it should be fine now sorry again
Ha! Ha! Glad you made it, Alex..! And a fine drawing to boot too! Lovely stuff!
Thanks to The Monarch too for the amusing American views of 2000ad :)
Nice work, love the Nemesis one in particular.
Wow there's been so much GREATstuff so far on the calendar. I mean just look at Neil Ford's Mean... seems silly to pick out favourites... then you see Andy Lambert's contributions and, well you just gotta. You could run an art comp on his picks for the calendar and I'd still struggle to pick my top three. Nemsis... not ABC... oh boy its gotta be Dredd weredeer....
so much to love.
Amazing from everyone, especially amazing from Andy.
Thanks guys, thank you, Colin - does this mean I managed to top Disco Dredd..? ;)

Topping Disco Dredd wouldn't be too hard!
The Advent Calendar is always a joy.
Fantastic work!
Ah, CFM- you big ol' tease!
The annual advent calendar is always a joy.
Wish I could've spent more time on mine. Confession: I started it over a year ago. It was my sketch for last year's calendar that I quickly coloured in. This time round I started redrawing all the characters, sketched Dredd then realised would be impossible to redraw the lot. Every free evening I put aside to work on this was gobbled up by unplanned work rush jobs.
Look forward to seeing the rest.
The advent calendar is amazing every year and this year is no exception! What brilliant work! I wonder what's going to happen with CFM?
i hope mines was okay i had a blast subjecting my clueless friend to 2000ad
Soo much good art! To catch up, well done to: James (awesome Rogue - want more!), Silver Surfer (great selection of Characters), Colin (fantastic, made me smile), Eamonn (so witty, I enjoy a good pun!), amines (Joe is the man bot!), NeilFord (great art, somehow kind of sad...)!
Andy, you continue to impress! The art on Credo Hohoho is some of your very best (and creepiest) and " I am the laaAAAH!" is hilarious, this is a story that needs to be told! "Bleat of the Reindeer!"
And finally CFM - great teaser, looking forward to the announcement!
Excited to see more artwork in the following days!
Yes, lovely stuff everyone.
I don't think mine will be done by 23rd, which is a shame as I had a good couple of ideas. Night shifts and being tired all the time isn't helping.* Thankfully, I was doubling with someone that day so at least that slot is filled. Looking forward to see their contribution.
Hopefully I'll still have something, for 23rd or 24th. At the least there's next year.
*I also ordered a cheap light box which I think will help with inking side of things. I dislike trying to rub out the pencil, etc. It always leaves a lot to clean up post scan. It's taking ages to arrive, though. I've a feeling it will be the other side of Christmas.
The entries so far have been outstanding. Does anyone mind if I jump the gun and give my little piece tonight rather than the 24th?
Please go ahead!
Another most excellent advent calendar, as always :) Kudos to all who have already posted and also to those who have still too post. My original drawing unfortunately never got further than the sketch stage, between the normal nonsense of this time of year and waiting a fortnight for new drawing pad to arrive on Thursday past, I'll try to finish it off in the new year.
I hope you all have a great xmas (and every other day of the year) :)

What a zarjaz creative calendar it is. Thanks to all involved, it gave me a thrill-powered advent. A very scrotnig Christmas to all, and best wishes for a ghafflebette 2018.
So many fantastic efforts on show - huge thanks to everyone who made the 2000AD board advent such a joy this year - and especially Pete Wells as the driving force behind all this.
I spot a Greggs!!!
Another wonderful advent calendar. Once we have all recovered from the trauma of hearing Pete try to sing on day one, we get the usual smorgasbord of inventiveness, talent and generosity that we've come to expect. Particular shout-outs to Eamonn's characteristic generosity in distributing cool stuff for charity and Andy Lambert's multiple awesome pictures. Still curious as to what Adrian's entry today was!
Fantastic stuff from everyone. Thank you all for giving of your time and talent - the highlight of the year.
And a very merry Christmas and a peaceful new year to all Squaxx everywhere - God bless you, every one.
Thanks to all you very talented people that produced this year's Advent calendar. Marvellous work as usual.
A quick post meal recap has revealed what a shiny shiny, bunch you lot all are. You come gifted wrapped, only half expected and are always gratefully received.
Amazing work from everyone. I know I don't post much these days but I will always love the advent calendar.
Jayzus Jayzus that is great. So like is that done by your brother simply adding bleach in the right places on a t-shirt?
Fantastic results!
A stencil I believe! I'll ask him more about it in soberer times ;)
Thank you all for your marvellous contributions. Merry Christmas everyone!
