General / New Frazer Irving Artwork
20 September, 2004, 12:41:18 AM
Frazer Irving has been doing some character designs for an upcoming Fluxed World science-fiction series on BROYism.com.  Check it out here:

Any feedback on these pics, the story segments or the rest of the BROYism site would be much appreciated.

Help! / Harmony Krieg - info needed
28 November, 2001, 12:53:50 AM
Hello there.  I'm working on a Harmony Krieg script for 'Zarjaz' but only have some of the 'Harmony' strips to work from.  Can anyone give me a potted history of Harmony, especially the later stories right up to the last prog?  I read somewhere that she was shot and supposedly killed at one point.  Is this how the story was left?  Was she still working as a Pinkerton gun-for-hire outside of Uranium City during the last story arc?

Cheers

roger.

General / WAKEFIELD
20 November, 2001, 12:28:00 AM
The new look of the site is really cool.  I've noticed one problem, though.  Every time I try to access the Writers' Submission guidelines my browser crashes (I'm using Netscape 4.0 on an iMac).  The Artists guidelines open fine, and so does every other part of the site I've visited, so there must be something weird going on in the writer bit.  Any ideas about that?

Suggestions / A Question For Wakefield

Sorry, I don't know how difficult this would be to do, but any chance of putting the site's video stuff (the old tv advert etcetera) onto RealPlayer or QuickTime formats?  My Mac won't play Windows Media.

cheers

General / Cassandra Anderson's Nipples

MARK: "Never noticed how big Anderson's nipples were until I got my figure."

PSI-ANDERSON ACTION FIGURE: "They're not nipples, creep!  These are Justice Department authorised Argon 886 propelled heat-seeking mini-missiles.  So, keep your hands off or you'll find out what these babies can do!"

General / Happy Birthday, Mega-City One
02 November, 2001, 02:37:27 AM
I'm working on a Dredd(ish) story and I just realised, when I was looking up the Time-Line, that Mega-City One is 100 years old this year.  Did they have a big Birthday Bash?  (Dredd armed with a billy-club, no doubt!)

General / More About Novels/Short Stories
31 October, 2001, 05:00:49 PM
I'd be interested in reading about aspects of the 2000ad universe that we don't get to see in the comics. Eg a collection of wild Hunter S Thomson / New Journalism style reports from the Dredd world: 'Fear And Loathing In Mega-City One' or 'Fear And Loathing In The Cursed Earth' etcetera. Have you never wondered how the Gonzo hack writers would have reported from the front-lines of Dredd's universe?

Or a book of erotic short stories by established writers like Alan Grant, John Wagner etcetera mixed in with newer writers.  There's a long tradition of SF writers like Samual R Delaney writing erotica.

Prose books can cover all kinds of areas that don't come across well or that you're not ALLOWED to show in a kid's comic - although, the one-off SEX issue of 2000AD (prog 1066) got away with it 'cause it wasn't for sale to children - so, it'd be good to try things that haven't been done before.

I think these are the kind of ideas writers could really get their teeth into and they wouldn't have to spend half a year writing them cause they'd be short stories.  Might even attract some non-comic readers into the 2000AD universe.
