Mr D

Cover- Argh! Rather nice. I like it, crass commercialism or no. I've emailed the mage to ALL my friends who go to Oxford Uni with strict instructions on the kind of places to look....

Dredd- Really cool stuff.... I'm enjoying this series a lot. It manages to keep that balance that America had regarding whose actions are moral. I'd have liked the judges to be a little harsher though. Not sure why...

Sin/Dex: I'm a Sin/Dex fan and this is a rather nice break from the norm. Looking forward to seeing this develop (and to getting back to the main plot)

Tyranny Rex: Enjoyed it, but seemed to waste time a bit. Very little REALLY happpened that I couldn't work out from last week.

Future Shock- Nope, didn't enjoy that at all.... What exactly was it meant to be??

Low-Life: Nice to see this gem back after a decent rest since the last series... Oh, hang on... A nice surprise actually, didn't know the second tale would lead straight on. Loves it I does!

Naughty letter criticising Floyd.

*whaps it with rolled up newspaper*

No Droid Life? Hmph.

Haven't got the prog yet, but I'm loving the cover. I'm deadly serious when I say it's in the top 3 of the year so far for me.

LordSnooty

Another poor cover. It looks very 1980s.

'Terror' is coming along very nicely. Similar subject matter to Savage, but executed with much more finesse.

Also, I liked this installment of Lowlife. Witty dialogue, and I like the premise a lot. But I think I fancy Amiee. Help.

The future shock was just confusing and weird.

I hate Sinister Dexter with a passion, it's offensive and the characters are totally unsympathetic. But I did actually like this episode. No doubt something will happen in future installments to make me hate it (like the leads shooting a group of women and children in their faces and then stamping on their brains or something).

>Cover - Striking, different, unusual but essentially an advert for new merchandise.

Can vouch that the merchandise came about because of the Phantoms cover not the other way round. Saw the Phantoms test of the cover and it was huge.

What merchandise?  Was this a real wall scrawl then?  I assumed it was done in photoshop.  If it's real, top stuff!

Merchandise that?s been done looks like a Dredd stencil like this weeks cover and a 2000AD logo stencil.
Saw the phantoms trial for the cover and it was a real scrawl. According to Tharg?s blurb the real thing is in Oxford somewhere.

If they want some cool wall scrawl covers they should see Bart Diaz, his graffiti stuff is completely astounding.  No idea how he does it, but he did a matrix pic (back when the matrix was still cool :) for some exhibition thing, that was awe inspiring.

Here's the image I've been sent for the merchandise. I'm just waiting for confirmation of price and weight before it goes in the Future Shop.

Here's how I understand the FS.

Part One

Part One - Intro depicts the plot of the latest book in the Marshal Anders saga. There is a last 'Fortress World', and we are told Clench cannot kill Clench - a problem now that Anders has been 'repaired' with Clench parts. In the real world, author Michael Anderson goes to meet Editor Saskia. He wants to kill Anders off after nine years. Editor is reluctant. They go to coffee and the Clench ship depicted on a book he has just signed appears. It attacks a building. Anderson either faints or is hurt by falling debris.

Part Two - Four months later, Saskia is pleased that Anderson is still in a coma. She leaves and passes a bloke. Having recognised each other, we can see her transforming in the background. The bloke proceeds to stick a thing on Anderson's face and refers to him as Anders. Saskia, evidently a Clench, bursts into the room and attempts to pull the thing of Anders'/Anderson's face. There's a fight after which the bloke appears to succeed in whatever he was doing with the thing. He then gets squashed. The story reverts back to the book and the twist reveals that, in fact, the reality and fiction were swapped around.

The story (ie the typed lettering) was 'real', and Anderson merely a construct planted in Anders' mind designed to supress him without killing him (as Clench can't kill Clench). But in the end - his consciousness was too strong. So having beaten their trick, he takes over control of 'Mindraper' and carries on the fight. Yay! Go Anders!

Phew! Is that right? Ta.

Oh, and the chap in the hospital was Dralla from Part One, whose help Anders obviously needed to come out of that coma...???

I hope so, cos part 2 made no sense to me at all! Your explanation seems pretty good, so I'm gonna re-read both parts tonight!

paulvonscott

I won't be reading both parts again.

Wishy washy prog as we wait for prog 1400.

Really enjoyed the stone effect in the nerve centre.  And the Future Shop in the prog, that was a good idea!  Not sure about stencils, but hey, it may work.

Floyd-the-k

that sounds right m@. Thank you.
It still doesn`t make any sense though. I think the writer outsmarted themself. Maybe I`m just too tired.....

Satanist

Ho-Hum, a mediocre Prog at best.

If it wasn't for Dredd & Lowlife it would be well poor.

Nice cover though
Hmm, just pretend I wrote something witty eh?

Dunk!

Cover: Erm 'Cos these stencils are being endorsed by the comic if people paste them up all over the place can Rebellion be served with an ASBO (Anti-social Behaviour Order) like some companies who flypost in London have been? Just wondering.

Dredd: Like it, now bring on the gory shooty bit.

FS: Err? I post here so what would I know?

Tyranny Rex: Nope lost me, very vanilla Yeowell art.

Sinister Dexter: Same old, same old.

Low life: Great. The art seems less rushed than the last few episodes of the first story and I like fact Aimee's been made even more unattractive; Challenges the perception of a good girl comic character being an excuse for T&A.

Highlights: Both from Lowlife. Aimee being asked if she'd ran into any good walls lately? And the tech-judge's halfhearted reassurance when asked about the procedure being painful - he doesn't care.

Average stuff, worth it for the two stories set in Mega city.
