The email I sent to Jon, with my suggestion for the content, was as below. I guess all the content for TFS is readily available. No idea about the other stuff. I also sent the artwork I made (copied below), which probably annoyed the crap out of the designers, who'd already sorted the cover rough (with Alpha's head).

MAIN CONTENT
The Final Solution (b/w): 122 pages
600-606, 615-621, 636-641, 645-647

The Final Solution: Replay: 5 pages
682
(This was a â??previouslyâ??, to let readers catch up with the series, and largely features Durham Red.)

The Final Solution (colour): 26 pages
683-687

EXTRAS
Incident at the Birth of the Universe: 8 pages
2000AD Winter Special 1988

The Town that Died of Shame: 8 pages
2000AD Sci-Fi Special 1988

Top Dog: 29 pages
Judge Dredd Annual 1991 (reprinted in Best of 2000 AD SE 1999 and a Hamlyn GN)

This has been discussed elsewhere. The trade dress of Final Solution has been designed to match the other trades. As for the contents, Jon said he'd try to source the 'missing' stuff for inclusion, but wasn't making any promises.

"What was it?"

A DVDR full of 2000 AD scans.

"Why not all of the back issues."

Various reasons. Some of the issues aren't digitised or aren't cleaned up. Also, Rebellion doesn't have the rights to everything anyway (such as Dan Dare, Really & Truly, etc.) In the (very) long run, we can expect most old 2000 ADs to be available digitally, but even then Rebellion won't be selling them off for peanuts.

I don't know if Rebellion has a specific address for this kind of thing, but there's a 'report a listing' link on the auction, which can be used to flag suspect auctions with eBay.

I've absolutely no idea whatsoever what's going on in Savage.

"Its absolutely archaic"

I don't agree, but it's also worth pointing out that as this isn't an off-the-shelf solution, it's waaaaay less likely to get hacked than PHPBB or equivalent.

Oddly enough, I just did a soft-launch of a Vanilla Forum install on a client site. The fact that it's not PHPBB has gone down pretty well so far.

Off Topic / Re: Snow !
06 April, 2008, 07:37:35 PM
God knows what would have happened yesterday if it had snowed, after London Waterloo was closed. It was absolute bloody chaos at Clapham Junction (all trains south and west running through platforms 5 and 6, seemingly at random).

And three inches of white evilness here last night. I don't care for snow at the best of times, but in April - and two days after we'd had about 16°C and sun? Grrrr.

Film & TV / Re: Hellboy II theatrical trailer....

"So, 'Hellboy, Seed of Destruction' would be worth seeing also."

That's basically the first film, give or take.

The comics are fantastic, so you should take a look. Many of them are basically Mignola using Hellboy as a device to explore ancient mythology, adding a bit of pulp action into the mix. There's the odd nod to Lovecraftian stuff, but the weight is definitely towards the 'other worlds' across the run to date. The spin-off, BPRD, is also well worth reading.

"I don't really see anything here that makes me think this is gonna be too different"

I interviewed Mignola a while back, and he reckons this film's going to be very different to the first. They were pretty restricted with Hellboy, having to introduce the world and also provide a 'bridge' to normality by using the bland Myers. This time, all the mythology stuff has been piled in, and I think it's going to be more like the comics (albeit the more action-oriented ones).

I concur, as you might have guessed. Bellardinelli's   best 2000 AD art; Wagner and Grant's imaginative and fun scripts; barking mad characters; it's all great.

My understanding was that Ace was originally slated for EEs, but I guess there's been enough demand to get a chunky collection out the door. The thing is, everyone who was shouting about it now must buy the thing, so we can get the entire run in two books. Don't let another Sam Slade happen, viewers!

Some nasty typos there, which are now fixed on the site. As for the books, if you're an Ace fan, buy this volume, and we'll be more likely to get another. (And with Ace, only two volumes should be enough to collect the entire run.)
