Synopsis

Six years ago previously, a NASA probe returning to earth with samples of an alien life form, crashed over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear, and half of Mexico was quarantined as an INFECTED ZONE. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain "the creatures"... The story begins when a US journalist agrees to escort a shaken American tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.

What in your opinion would make for a decent Dredd Movie Poster ?

Baring in mind it has to be seen by the masses, attract non Dredd followers and to that end be visually appealing enough to pull the punters in yet stay true to the Dredd ethos.

Among proponents of non-lethal weapons, one of the most widely discussed technologies is "sticky foam", pioneered by Judge Dredd as "riot foam" in the British comic 2000 AD. Fired from a high-powered gun, it rapidly solidifies on contact, immobilising the victims but – hopefully – not killing them.

As ever, nature got there first. Strange creatures called velvet worms use a similar trick to entrap their prey, and while the immobilisation process might not be fatal, the subsequent process of being eaten most certainly is.

Velvet worms are onychophorans and are truly ancient: they were around in the Cambrian period over 500 million years ago, and were among the first land animals to take up walking. Nowadays there are about 90 species left, and E. rowelli is one of the most remarkable.

To summarise regarding "the crack" we know the following is to open




• River Song told the Doctor that she would see him when the "Pandorica" opens.
• Doctor traces the end of the crack to the date 26 June 2010 which co-incidentally is the wedding of Amy Pond
• The crack is still widening at this time and is exploding elsewhere in the universe.
• Anything which comes into contact with the "crack" will cease to exist and be wiped from memory.
• The crack first seen on Amy's bedroom wall when she was five
• Prisoner Zero is not known to the Doctor and yet had lived in the same house in an alternate dimension with Amy for several years.
• The Weeping Angels call it a "time field" and it will destroy reality.

My take on it is that the Reality Bomb (Journey's End) that Davros constructed was will or indeed has exploded and the Doctor had a part in that as Davros himself called the Doctor "the Destroyer of Worlds" before the Doctor left Davros on the exploding ship.

I have wondered how viable it would be to create a mini series based on Judge Dredd. As the new film will have no doubt stacks of CGI work already created (buildings, shop fascias, road networks, sector house interiors im guessing) surely they can be used again cutting costs for a tv series?
Again with the costumes and props most would have already been created for the film except those specific props needed for that particular show.
Story lines and scripts well they would need tweaking and approval but there is just so many fantastic story lines and material that you could cut a few corners on production costs letting the story take the front stage.
Am I way off the mark here ?

Following on from the amazing announcement this week (see http://www.2000adonline.com/forum/index.php/topic,28503.0/thread. A few guys wanted to see mockups of some actors who could possibly be cast as Judge Dredd

I have tinkered (and tinkered is the word so excuse poor photoshopping its late!) and came up with a few of the suggestions that were banded about in a "dredd-esque" pose.

hi to all you guys and gals who have been on these forums following the galaxies greatest for so long.

I am a newbie though have read the comic since issue 1 (geeeeez I should be getting ready for Resyk soon!)

Anyways I was just too tempted to get in amongst it with the fantastic things which are happening around around here and with you the people who do make it all happen, the thrillpowers going blow the roof down im sure

Well thats me saying howdy and hope to be around sharing in some quality discussions from time to time.
