General / Death without a helmet?
24 September, 2007, 10:23:00 PM
Dredd never shows us his face, as we all know. What about Judge Death? Do we ever see him without a helmet?

I'd imagine it would be pretty fun.

Film & TV / Dredd animated series: How would you do it?
23 September, 2007, 07:31:02 AM
Dredd needs an animated series, it would be amazing. If you could plot it out, how would you do it? Here's how I'd do the first season.  :)

Some of the 6-page stories that are mostly action could be adapted in 5 minutes easily. I'd sometimes start an episode with one, then ease into the main plot of the episode.

Episode 1: Starts with Judge Whitey, as a nod to the first Dredd story. The main plot of the episode would be Return of Rico. The characters and world would get introduced too.

Episode 2: I'd start with Spikes introduction, and his arrest by Dredd. Then the episode would be a loose adaptation of The Robot Wars, introducing Walter. Throughout, Dredd would be testing cadet Giant.

Episodes 3 to 6: The Cursed Earth. I'd cut out a couple subplots to make it more focused, naturally Burger Wars and such would be gone.

Episodes 7 to 10: The Day The Law Died.

Episode 11: Punks Rule. Of course, 6 pages is short for a full episode. I'd flesh it out, and show how the city is getting back on track after the epic.

Episode 12: Judge Death. 'Nuff said.

Episode 13: Starts with the Boing story, then covers the Vienna kidnapping.

Episode 14 to 17: Judge Child epic.

Episode 18: Judge Death Lives.

Episodes 19 and 20: Block Mania

Episodes 21 to 26: The Apocalypse War

That's how I would do the first season. Yes, I've got some free time on my hands. How would you guys do it?

General / Why so little ABC Warriors and Strontium Dog?
21 September, 2007, 10:00:49 AM
I'm wondering why there is so little ABC Warriors and Strontium Dog over the years. Especially compared to the mighty Judge Dredd.

I'm in the early-80's era right now, on prog 161.

You've got Dredd, Robo Hunter, The VCs, Blackhawk, Fiends of the Western Front... no ABC or Strontium.

Now, you'd figure in this era we'd have a lot more Strontium Dog and ABC Warriors, since they were relatively new, and popular.

And of course, this problem continued over the years. Why are those titles so on and off? Not everything can be Dredd, but you'd think those are popular enough to be more frequently published.

When do you think the prog 1555 page will be up?

I want to cast some votes. :)

General / 2000AD: Popularity poll archives?
19 September, 2007, 04:48:13 AM
You know how 2000AD has the "this is what I like best" polls for all their titles? I was wondering if there were any archives of those results, in general.

For example, maybe how the comics ranked in popularity each year.

Helpful pie-charts and graphs are cool too. :D

General / Walter the Wobot!

Was that guy awesome or what? I want him back!

Bring back Walter, make him a hard-boiled detective bot or something.

General / Is Judge Dredd a virgin?
16 September, 2007, 11:18:23 PM
That's the question, is Dredd a virgin? I've still got a lot of Dredd to read, but I've never seen him get laid.

I figure he might have the 40 Year Old Virgin beat. If I'm wrong, probably, point out some progs where Dredd sees some action.

Help! / Judgement Trilogy? Etc...
16 September, 2007, 10:37:12 AM
What is the Judgement Trilogy? And what issues is it contained in?

Also, what is the "Dredd Doubts" trilogy?

One more question, what progs exactly cover the "Democracy" story?

Thanks

General / Dredd, clones, and DNA men?
10 September, 2007, 01:45:32 AM
In The DNA Man (Progs 113 to 115) it seems like Frankenstein was the first to try cloning. Yet, in prog 30 we learn that Dredd and Rico are clones.

What's the deal here? This is my first time reading through all the old stories.

Books & Comics / Savage Dragon

One of the longest running books with only one writer/artist at the helm.

Any Dragon fans on here?http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/5595/savagedragonv201p00fccu2.jpg">
