Oh Dear Mr Nice,
That mistake makes me feel very old indeed, heh...

Oh well.
Inspired by that, I've gone and had a good look through the old covers, top stuff.

Urk, I should say I've found a very small version of it somewhere, but still seek something a little larger. Really though, any cool Rogue Trooper images would be appreciated if anyone can link them, this one or not.

Help! / Trying to find an old Rogue Trooper Image
27 June, 2007, 06:10:33 PM
Hey folks,

I used to have a cool image of Rogue Trooper, he had his hands behind his head, and there was blood on his face, it was in colour. Not terribly old, only a few years old I'd guess. I used to play in a Judge Dredd Roleplaying game in Tabletop, and my old ST is back in town, and we're going to do some Rogue Trooper stuff again, so I'd love to track down some good Rogue images to inspire the group. Can anyone advise me where to find these images without mucking up anyone's copyright?

Thanks folks...

Heh, I don't blame you for asking...

Nah, I'll level with you, it's written by a guy who owns Dublin's coolest comic shop, Sub City, I've been going there for about ten years, and I really like Rob. (The writer)
I myself am merely a comic-reading slacker that frequents the place since mid teens.

I picked up the comics recently and felt like it would be very cool if I could spread the word in any way...

Hey folks,
I'm sorry to plug here, but I recently discovered a really great comic. I live in Dublin, happened to hear about a comic published here that had cool characters and great art. I checked it out, I really love it, and I've met the guy who writes it, and he's a lovely bloke, so I thought I'd spread the word as much as possible.

Freakshow is set in the late 1950s in Los Angeles and New York, and the writer describes it as an outsider's look at the separate world we know from old movies.

The characters are superb, but I don't want to give spoilers so I won't go into who they are or what they get up to.

Suffice to say that there is a strong crime/detective story theme, but taken on from a really unusual and fresh angle.

Well, I apologise for plugging, but at least it's on someone else's behalf. I love the comic, and it would make me really happy to see it do well. It's already on sale in the UK.

Freakshow is published by Atomic Diner publications, 2 Exchequer St, Dublin 2.

You can get information from robatomicdiner@eircom.net, and you can order it from http://www.silverbulletcomics.com/
and

Please try it out and post nice things about it here, and finally please don't hate me too much for going so far off topic.

Help! / What Exactly Happens In The Iso-Cubes?
12 November, 2004, 06:04:07 PM
Well,
once again i'm asking useless questions that in no way benefit the board, but serve to enlighten me and me only...

this week, it's:

what happens in the iso cubes?

i've read a lot of stories that mentioned them, but i've always been more of a judge dredd graphic novel reader, (and to be honest most of my 2000AD reading has been focused on ABC warriors & strontium dog Graphic Novels) and i've never read all that much about exactly what happens in the iso cubes.

i can't remember, do perps have access to anything at all, or is it just completely like being in solitary confinement with no privelages for 20 years or whatever their sentences are?

Tweak's right, and anyway, remember when Hammerstein wanted to get together with, uh, what was her name, Terri i think, the woman who thought she was a robot. he asked joe pineapples about that time he got thrown out of the x-terminators for knocking off a commanding officer's wife, and said something like: "um, Joe, i know that you've got... modifications" and proceeded to ask where he could get some.

oh god, what's wrong with me, i'm arguing the case for a beautiful woman to sleep with a robot instead of a human male. it's true, geeks like me are an evolutionary measure, brought into being to help stem the problem of overpopulation...

"Are we all a touch curmudgeonly, yet forgiving..."

i'm afraid i'm plenty curmudgeonly, but not at all forgiving.
i don't have any really good ideas for world peace, but i like oddboy's idea.

i like this thread too, it's nice to see people talk about themselves as well as about the comic and the sci-fi lifestyle.

me personally i'm probably not much different from standard issue. i'm not balding or middle aged, but i guess time can cure both of those.

i'm yet another guy who thought he'd be a great writer someday, and somewhere along the way stopped writing.

i take pictures now though, and i'm hoping to start studying to be a professional photographer next year.

hey, what about movies, do we have a love of movies in common?
i'm a major movie nerd.

(i don't say BUFF cos i hate the word, and i feel it implies that i know much more than i do)

Hey Larf i'm not into the manics myself, but i liked your post. i liked it because it was well written and really evocative, and even if i don't listen to the music i can see its impact.

as to the question of what else people are listening to, i'm rediscovering the cure these days, and listening to all their old albums.

also, as at any time in the last dozen years or so, i'm listening to the pixies a lot.

Off Topic / Re: Burning Mp3's on NERO......
03 November, 2004, 06:18:05 AM
one thing that you might do is save the tracks to your hard drive, and and then put numbers infront of their names. so track one would have a 01 in front of it. i had to do that a while ago when i had an mp3 cd player that got confused.

but that just solves the naming issue.

one thing i'm not entirely clear on, probably just because i'm not very bright:

when you go to burn the cd, it gives you an option for what kind of cd to burn, music, data, etc? or no? some versions of nero do this some don't.

if you're using windows xp, you can do the whole thing through windows cd burning just by putting them in order and then burning. (if your stereo reads folders then pop em into folders, and you should be fine)

i had to use windows burning for a bit a while ago too, moved flat, lost cds, reformatted machine etc.

i don't know if any of the above is helpful, but i hope something in there is.
