I seem to remember the Happy Mondays making their way into a Judge Death story in some Dredd special or other. 'You're bending my cantaloupe, man! Call the Judges!'

The 1995 cover is amazing - way better than Joy Hogg, Millar Slade and Fleisher Friday deserve.

I loved that 1992 yearbook - my brother gave me it for Christmas in, I suppose, 1991.  It definitely had a lot not to like - Millar Robohunter, Fleisher Rogue - but Glenn Fabry's new, painted, let's-give-Biz-a run-for-his-money Sláine was amazing, and the reprint of Dash Decent was fine by me, as I couldn't remember it the first time round.  Also, Dredd doing his punchline in a Scottish accent.

I lost it for years, then found it again, but it sadly went the way of most of my possessions in that feckin' boat fire.

The next few Yearbooks - not quite so fond memories, but there were a few decent strips.

In fairness, a god of blue sky would have some nerve expecting any kind of gift the way the weather has been here lately.

No hassle... the only thing is, we still have a wicker arm to fill, and animals aren't enough to appease the gods.
(For the record, most of us aren't actually pagans, but just love a good spectacle and party.)

We believe the gods prefer thieves, outlaws and other criminals, but if we run short, we do not hesitate to make up with innocent men.

On an unrelated note, Kerry's just a county away from Cork, if you fancy a nice bank holiday break...?

Sorry to hear that. New York Trilogy is one of those books that left me a bit puzzled but under no doubt that I'd just read a masterpiece.

Another is an autobiographical work that will stay lodged in my brain forever - the only thing I forget is the name but I think it was Hand to Mouth.

Zenith owes Paul Auater a debt, and so, now I think about it, does Grant's Animal Man.

I knew a Dug who was a bit of a moody and huffy bastard to work with too.

I'll third that, though I take the burning a wicker man approach to May Day (which is exactly what I'll be doing as part of the Kerry celebrations this weekend).

Yesterday I came across an article about Russell Brand, who apparently is being baptised in the Thames, for feck's sake.  Anyway it had occurred to me - what has become of the sexual assault allegations?   I'm genuinely wondering, not doubting their veracity, but the story has gone quiet recently.  Is there a trial coming up or anything? 

Of course, another man found guilty of rape may well be the next US president, so maybe people just don't give as much of a shit about the victims these days.

I don't have it but a quick Google images search tells me that's definitely Raptaur.  What a great piece of artwork!  Patrick Goddard, if I'm not mistaken?

Got halfway through it at work today then my headphones died.  Great stuff as always, will finish my listen tomorrow!

Nice to see the Mills Bashing happening on the traditional Tuesday (or Týr's Day, as it was in Sláine's time*). These traditions are important.

I'm just grateful Patrick seems to have stop bashing the Bish-Op so often. It was exhausting.

I remember Tharg's Input answers got a bit serious when you took the reins but my grud, that's the message board's quote of the week right there.  Made me laugh out loud on the train, anyway.

Yep... he's been on the go a very long time now, and just keeps getting better.  He can do fully-painted very well too - remember Chopper in the very first Megazine run? - but I'd take his line work any day.
