Thankyou all for the advice. I don't have any 'hardcore' scifi fans to look over it which is my worry but at least it doesn't break any pitchfest rules. I have had it proof read by a couple of small press people and they liked it and showed interest which is good. Perhaps becuase they know I work to brief, have a fucked up imagination and work for free lol ;) but no suggestions for improvements except an indepth discussion over the technical terms 'recession' and 'depression'. Not sure how much panel descriptions to put in so I have left it fairly free for artists interpretation (the old wagner vs moore panel debate lol) so really just needing one scifi fanatic to look over it but I'm sure ill find one x x

The glasgow comicon is organised by sha and john of blackhearted press so yes expect a lot of small press as the local glasgow comic scene is pretty tight. Last year was an absolute blast with alan grant, david lloyd, mark miller, colin macneil, gary erskine and others signing, sketching and smiling kindly at insane fans. I was stoned and steamin through the whole thing as there was a bar in venue :P and yes pub afterwards too! Very surreal to see david lloyd asleep in my local night club!!! I'm not sure who's appearing this year but if I find out anything I will let you know. I am very happy for them to be running 2 days this year after last years success. Ill be the drunk chick being rude to everyone w00t w00t feel free to say hey x x

Aha I have found the solution! My uncle is a lawyer and I can copyright for free by giving his office it, cos I'm clever like that. Will post myself a copy for added oomf. Ah brain power + google = winner. Stay tuned and I shall put it up soon x x

Oh how indecisive you are board but I perhaps shall go with the mod on this one? Can you still copyright things by getting the post office to stamp the date over the letter fold,  posting them to yourself and not opening the letter? That used to hold up in court if need be. Though to be honest as an aspiring writer its hard enough to get anyone to read your stuff as it is so to think the theives are waiting in the wings is hopeful at best. I'm not a professional writer (I have a real job ;P hehe just teasing) but I can flood ideas easily and really just need to tighten my writing a little. Hmm a 1% chance of copyright theft vs the need for constructive criticism... I shall perhaps put a couple of silly panel type things and see if I feel like a lucky punk x x

I shall be sending in my first ever submission to future shock later this week and was wondering if it is ok to post the full 5 pages here so that I can see what people think. It is a fairly dry, hard science story about a nobel prize winning scientist.

Good choice, good choice with Devlin and his awesome 'tasche. Yes he was up for high fiving but its more of a sketch than a commission. im currently getting a commission that needs two artists, Gary Erskine and Carlos Ezquerra, so i dont really have the cash for Colin right now anyways. Though gary's a wee doll and said he'd do it for free if I do him a favour. But! I'm definitely staying on Colin's waiting list 'til I have The Perfect Idea.

That's not fair :( youre 6 years old and you have a face. I'm 'well jell'

Yes, I'm representing for the girls as always. w00t w00t.

Aww everyone loves Col but sorry you cant clone him, he's one of a kind, he'll break your machine ;)

No but how I met Colin was that I was very drunk and calling some people boring for asking for judge dredd for almost every sketch he did and I was saying fuck dredd I want a sketch of me and Colin high fiving. He laughed and was very nice to say to come back when he was finished for the day but I had to say 'sorry Col I love you but I shall be in the pub by that point!' ;) I think he could appreciate that lol as he laughed and said fair enough. but i did get on his actual commissions list so im sure ill get something sometime but what im not sure - any suggestions?

When do I get a face admin?

Hi everyone and thankyou for the responses. Yes Colin is a very gifted artist and aside from his professional life is a very nice man. I email him sometimes as I was out night clubbing with him one time. he has a wide variety of styles and has been more consistent than some of my other faves though i wont name any names as that would be rude. His pastel work from the late 80s is my fave period x

Hello there 2000ad board people how are you all today? I schmooch about this board quite often as a silently passing 'guest' to find out news and see the fan vibes on different matters but finally got around to making an account. so yeah my intro... Im a 23 year old fan girl from Glasgow. I work with disabled people, taking them to art groups and things. My interests are comics, music, films, GW/DnD, rock clubs, hard scifi, fashions, yo3 and video games. I have other adds on facebook and things but will only give them to people i have spoken to at least a few times and dont seem too psychotic. My favourite 2000ad artist ever is Colin Macneil and favourite writer is Alan Grant, but I like a lot of others too. And thankyou to admin person who approved me x x
