IDW's Rogue Trooper....

...anyone else seen this? I'm surprised they didn't go with Stronty for their second one, although Rogue's a much more concise story I suppose, more ideal for the American market.

Gotta be better than their ongoing Dredd one, I think...

I think Rogue's a good choice: it's very open, it's war (which the US seems to like in terms of a basic concept within media), and it's also not something 2000 AD's used a lot of late. I'd also argue it's not really a concept that has such strict limitations regarding tone and feel, unlike Dredd and Strontium Dog.

I heard that the Rogue Trooper videogame did pretty well in the US too.

It pretty much disappeared without trace in North America.

That cover is from the Liam Sharpe run collected in Rogue book 5.
Dylan teague did a great version in that run and would be great for this IDW unless of course Dave Gibbons would come back now he's finished secret service.

I'd love to see some of that classic Rogue collected in those big hardcovers IDW have been doing for Dredd.
