Sadly, the involvement of Diddley Squat, sorry, Ridley Scott, doesn't fill me with much enthusiasm. OTOH, I notice that BR 2049 screenwriter Michael Green has an exec producer's role — he also penned Titan's excellent BR 2019, 2029 and 2039 comics, and that does give me more than a glimmer of hope for this turning out OK.
