Now I feel slightly guilty for not thanking Tharg for his critical but polite feedback for a script I sent him a few years ago.

The Milton Bradley Company is an American game company established by Milton Bradley in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1860. In 1920, it absorbed the game production of McLoughlin Brothers, formerly the largest game manufacturer in the United States and in 1987 it purchased Selchow and Righter, makers of Parcheesi and Scrabble.

Milton Bradley was taken over by Hasbro, Inc., in 1984. Now wholly owned by Hasbro, it is still retained as one of Hasbro's brands, similar to the manner in which Parker Brothers is one of Hasbro's brands. It is a board game and sometimes video game publisher

Oh, so that's what MB stands for. I didn't know that.

I don't think the "philosophical sigh" part of that quite works in relation to Dredd neither.

It looks like one of those 'broadsheet' comics I used to get as a child (Topper?).

First issue of The Topper didn't appear until 1953, so if the dating of the photo is correct, it can't be that.

Not The Beezer either. That didn't appear 'til 1956.

Hold on a minute... Wasn't he supposed to be making a Battle Angel Alita film?

Meh.

I thought this thread was going to be about something interesting like a day when you're allowed to go into work dressed as your internet messageboard icon or somethin'.

Good lord...What on earth is with the submissions mostly being from people whose names begin with the letters "ma"?

There's Matthews, Matts, Marks, Martins and I'm Malcolm. This could potentially get very confusing...

We've got a substantial amount of finished material and a fair bit currently being worked on, but we need more artists.

Your's was the Gorey-esque story, wasn't it Locustsofdeath? I know the perfect artist for that. I'll send them the script and see if they've got the time to illustrate it.

But, yes.... lack of artists... Apologies for not posting more details about exactly what's going in, but at the moment it's still a bit hard to tell until we get a few more folk of an artistic nature on board (which I'm going to make an extra effort to find later on tonight). This small press comic stuff is more complicated than it looks.

We have a few 5 page scripts still requiring artists, a couple of one pagers, a short story and a poem which needs drawings of various types of monsters, so if anybody wants to have a go at any of those, and can get it done before the end of October, let me know.

We'll also still be accepting finished comic strips into October, and the same goes for full page illustrations of creatures as mentioned above. Anything already finished stands a good chance of making it in.

Again, sorry for the lack of information requiring the lineup, but I'll be sure to post more here as things progress.

Somebody should get Google involved and then we'd eventually be able to zoom down to street level and see Tharg watering the plants in his back garden without his shirt on.
