Cover - yeah, nice.

Dredd - Excellent stuff. The Roffman bit was fascinating and the other plot threads chug along nicely.

Faces - A good opening.

Lobster - Nice art, witty script. Yay.

Asylum - Not into this at all. It's just there.

Stornty - Really enjoyed this episode. Great stuff.

Also, "Earthlet Penter" gets a panel in the prog and a namecheck from the Mighty Tharg!
Well done to him!

This prog, John Wagner, Henry Flint and the Big Meg are all on fire!

Dredd and Stront (deja vu again) are utterly wonderful stories, and I hope I never tire of typing this on a weekly basis.

Asylum's picked up, and the art's still lovely, while Lobster Random's absorbing, beautifully-drawn and actually a bit emotive.

Faces has been with us for just one episode, and seems good enough so far.

2000AD is a great comic.

Finally, some SPOILERIFIC suggestions for future episodes...

Entirely conjecture:

In Stront, it's obvious - from the title, if nothing else - that Johnny's going to do something really unthinkable.
However, in Dredd, I have to wonder if Wagner's thinking in a similar.

If they can't stop Total War - or whoever it is - in the usual way, what will the judges do?

Surely they wouldn't actually step down?

I think the Judges should all leave the city and set up camp outside the West Wall before Dredd leads a team inside the city to confront the baddies ...

Wooooaaah, deja vu ...
+++ implementing rigid format protocols +++ meander mode engaged +++

I've now recovered slightly and read it and loved it from start to finish, one of those lovely times when the planets align and and the prog just seems perfect. Total War is amazing, Lobster Random is brilliantly written and drawn, Strontium Dog is as great as always and it's the best episode of Asylum 2 yet, it's still one of my favourites. I don't actually remember "Freaks" so wasn't sure about "Faces" but it seems to be a pretty good old school story, looking forward to more!

Trout

What I mean is - Dredd's full of surprises.

Who saw it coming when he called an election?

Dudley

Yeah... but can you really see it?

INT DAY.  Dredd and Hershey in conference.
DREDD: Y'KNOW, MAYBE WE SHOULD JUST GIVE UP?
HERSHEY: YOU CAN'T SAY THAT!
DREDD: GAME'S NOT WORTH THE CANDLE, KNOW WORRIMEAN?

Trout

I'm thinking more in terms of: "We have no alternative. We will save more citizens by stepping down than staying in control."

DREDD - All right, you win. We're standing down.
TOTAL WAR - Yay! We win! Turn the bombs off, Boris! Let's all go for a curry to celebrate!
DREDD - Ha! I had my fingers crossed!
