Classics.
Vincent Price a legend , abomnible dr Phibes one of my favourite films
I've got this on pre order with Arrow for £19.99
I pretty much buy anything Arrow put out.
Their stuff is treated with real respect and the extras are always amazing.
It's the extras that interest me on this one. I wish they would release further details of what's on there - I don't want to waste my money if there's just a film which I already have on dvd.
I love Vincent Price movies.
These two aren't my favourites of his (Theatre of Blood is a similar idea, but better, imho) but it's still wonderful that they going to be available on blu-ray.

Yeah... I always have to actively remind myself that Theatre of Blood
isn't a Phibes movie...
Cheers

Although easily the worst thing in both films are the scenes - and there are way too many of them - with Phibes 'talking' to his (apparent) deaf-mute companion. Yes, that's an actor miming to his own off-screen voice talking to a character that never replies. And the seconds tick by like hours in them.
It's worse in the second film, where these scenes are used to explain the same exposition several times over. Dear God.
Ah but any film that has Terry Thomas in it is worth a watch :-)
She's certainly not very talkative, but it's never occurred to me that Vulnavia might be deaf.
On the other hand, I've always wondered if she's even meant to be human.

The Phibes are great fun, and hopefully the new bluray's will be something special, but id give anything for a Theatre of Blood special edition bluray.
Make it happen Arrow!

they usually do a great job, commentary by the league of gentlemen should be fun. Pit and the pendulum due a release this year as well.
Received "Sisters" from Arrow this morning.
Looks superb.
Waiting for (on pre order);
"Theatre Of Blood" (5th May) (steel book)
"The Beast Within" (12th May)
"Pit and the Pendulum" (19th May) (steel book)
"Dr Phibes" (9th June)
and
"The 'Burbs" (23rd June) (steel book)
Basically a film a week for 6 weeks :D
I see that the Theatre of Blood release is also available as a standard Blu-ray, and is a little bit cheaper.
Still, looking forward to seeing this.
Indeed. The steelbooks usually run about £2-£3 more expensive.
I like them although I do sometimes miss the additional artwork.
Invasion of the Bodysnatchers (1978) had a lovely original Arrow cover which I did not get because I went for the steel book.
The caveat, in this case, is that the delightful original quad artwork for Theatre of Blood is cropped by quite a lot on the standard release but is complete in all it's glory on the steel book.
Swings and roundabouts.
Arrow Video are the best. Have this on order along with many other os their titles.
Indeed hey are Hawkmonger.
Long overtook my favourite labels of BFI and Criterion.
