Carlos Ezquerra on Inky Fingers Podcast (2014)

A great 40 minute interview (in two parts) with the mighty Carlos Ezquerra. My only complaint is that the interview is 8 hours and 20 minutes too short. I could listen to this man's stories all day.

Has anyone come across (or recorded) audio interviews with Brian Bolland and Mick McMahon? I would love to complete the Holy Trinity.

.. who writes damage report?

Clearly not Keith or Pye if this week's Damage Report is anything to go by: "TMO's minions are left reeling by connoisseur of crap Robo-K33F's apparent genuine interest in the Eurovision Song Contest, and PYE-01's unexpected success in winning said event..."

I'm genuinely fascinated as to how the guys consistently put the prog and the megazine together week after week.

In Pye's case:

  • What is the regular routine Mon - Fri for compiling each issue?
  • What are the steps involved in getting the finished art files from arrival by email (I assume) to finished printed product?
  • How many issues of the comic is he juggling at any one stage during the week?
  • Also what is the thinking behind the current double logo on the prog cover each week? He seems to end up covering most of the horizontal "2000AD" logo each week. Is there a rational reason for both titles on the cover?
For Keith:

  • How much, if any, of the old pre-digital original art is kept on site in Oxford? Or is it mainly negative copies?
  • Is there any sense of history or thrill when he's working with old art or negatives or is it just another day at the office? For me I still get a thrill when I open an old prog and can still remember what I was doing at the age I read it.

Cheers lads! Looking forward to the interview as always.

I am still laughing at Mr. Molcher in this video.

a wonderful take on Angelina.

Gorgeous. This makes me more smitten with Angelina now than I was at 15.

Where's the link to the Fay Daldon for 2000AD petition? I need to sign.

This should have been the cover for the Summer Special, it's even pissing down on it. Perfect!

Agreed.

Nice one PJ. It's a class game alright. It's also a slippery slope: I guarantee you'll have bought the Rebel Transport before the end of the month.

Magic is a great game, well worth trying out. You can pick up starter sets with two basic decks to give you a flavour of it. The problem is that you can end up spending a fortune building a competitive deck. You could check out Android Netrunner which is similar in principle to Hearthstone and Magic but is a self contained game with everything in one box.

Quit while you're ahead. There's no point in doing any more as these Lego fatties are the pinnacle of your achievements!

What's that blob of red , just below Dredd's eagle breast?

My guess is that he's done that deliberately in order to adhere to the ancient Buddhist principle of Wabi-Sabi, that "nothing is perfect". I mean it couldn't be a mistake obviously.

After listening to Pat Mills on various podcasts over the last few months waxing lyrical about Simon Davis' giant pissing on a tree I was really looking forward to seeing this giant pissing on the tree. Have to say it lived up to my expectations: its truly the best giant pissing on a tree I have ever seen!

Also, I haven't stared as closely at a comic page as I did with the first two stunning pages of this week's Indigo Prime.
