Title: Space 2099
Post by: Mudcrab on 13 February, 2012, 12:44:51 PM
No, not a mistake, or then again, it may yet prove to be  :D

Looks as though they've no messed with the Eagles too much and after the recent new V (which I liked on the whole), it could be not bad.

Obviously a low quality of journalism on that site, rife with statements like "Space: 2099 is poised for a comeback.". Still, obvious pedantry aside, quite looking forward to this, remember it well.

Of course, for those that aren't as ancient as some of us, it's a remake of the 70s Gerry Anderson "live" SciFi show, Space 1999.

Alan and Maya up a tree. Doin what they shouldn't be.Lol.
Remember the episode where Maya had to turn into a massive plant to produce enough oxygen to keep Koenig alive inside a stricken Eagle with failed life support.
Beat that new/re imagined series. Yeah!!! You can't can you!!!
I want wall to wall man made fibers and white impractical space chairs and little hand held TV communicator type things.
And I want no one experiencing Zero G even though their floating through fuckin space on a Fuckin Moon. :P

MacFarlane announced they would be reviving Cosmos: A Space Time Odyssey, a 1980s miniseries from Carl Sagan.
Man you missed this?
Carl 'The Sage' Sagan floatin through space inside a giant space Dandelion seed.
(I kid you not).
Awsum.

That the company responsible for V will be involved in making this gives me no hope whatsoever for the end product, though I remain open to the idea that this might not be a simple bit of capitalising on a brand name without knowing what makes that brand desirable.  I mean, it could have been a total fluke that they remade a tv show about America being invaded by space nazis as a gutless liberal parable about David Cameron's PR people.

High kicks in short skirts. Fantastic.

Loved Space: 1999. I hope this new project turns out well.
