Apparently they have announced MegaMan 11 too. Cool!

When they teased the announcement I got my hopes up for a new Mega Man for a second! I'd love them to take another stab at a 3d one.

Last game I played through was Castlevania: Curse of Darkness on PS2, fantastic game, much better than Lament of Innocence which preceded it. Platforming takes a backseat in both and they focus more on combat. LoI's combat was quite shallow and with very flat, board-game maps whereas CoD adds more interesting terrain and lots of cool systems for things like xp, loot, crafting items and raising familiars to fight with you. Its a lot more substantial and looks a bit better too.

I remember there was some outcry from fans about Mercury Steam 'turning Castlevania into God of War' when they made Lords of Shadow on 360 and PS3, but it's not like Konami hadn't already gone in the 'Character Action' direction themselves, and successfully. LoS rocked too anyway!

I never managed to get through The Witcher 2 either, it wasn't only the awkward gameplay, I also just didn't like Geralt so I really was buggered. He was just a charisma vacuum. Its a shame because a lot of people really enjoy these games, especially Witcher 3 :(

It's entirely legal, all the patents on the hardware have lapsed. It plays real cartridges too, not roms (except for Super Turrican Directors Cut and Super Turrican 2 which are in-built in a deal with the Turrican owners, Factor 5). The NES clone they did was super sexy as well, but too expensive for my taste even if it does have a machined aluminium body :D  There is a cheaper alternative in that case though, the AVS by RetroUSB

I really like it when games purposefully play with your sense of morality, Spec Ops is a good example JamesC. I never played World at War though, I'm not sure how it was executed there. I'm working on a little indie platformer at the moment which will have it's own moral conundrum near the end,  assuming I don't bottle it!

On topic, I played a bunch of Rogue Trooper Redux with a mate, it was great stuff. It takes a little bit to get going but once you're all powered up with your biochips and the real gameplay has shown itself, it's still as good as I remember.

We also booted up the PS2 version afterwards to compare, it's interesting. Theres something more cohesive about the art style of the original, its much more stylised and then in the Redux they've injected some realism, perhaps creating a clash. Redux still looks cool though, the extra resolution goes a long way for a kick off! Does anyone know if it does 4k on the Pro and the X? that would be cool.

Facebook can be horrific when you stray from your own circle of friends (sometimes even when you stray from your own page.) But on your page you are the boss. I intentionally turned Facebook into safe ground ages ago, after one to many confrontation. it's only social media if you make it that way and it's only anti social media if you let it be.

I recently signed back up to Facebook after years away from it, is there a more public slant to facebook now with more interactions between strangers?

I'm also hoping the art competition comes back soon, I may lurk a lot and not enter but I often check on it!

Its not tons to go off, but the concept art looks pretty great! Starting to get my hopes up for something more faithful to the comics!

Not a dig at Dredd 2012, absolutely drokking loved it, but I do think comic book MC1 is ultimately much more interesting than 2012 MC1. Not only visually, but also I cant imagine all the weird sci-fi stuff and extreme sports and fads that occur in the comics happening in that more contemporary vision of the city. I want flying cars and fatties and boing! That wonderful clash of flamboyant towering buildings, outrageous technology and human filth. Where it seems like anything is possible yet the Judges are always around a corner to arrest you for doing it, however innocent. Most people have no job or purpose beyond entertaining themselves, life is cheap and crazy. A sprawling, glistening plasteen favela. Its such a rich world, I hope it doesn't get watered down too much. I'm rambling again!

Would be great to see Karl back in the role, it might be weird at first seeing him playing a different version of Dredd in a different version of MC1 but It'd normalise pretty quickly I'm sure. He gets it.

yeah I thought that too Jim, it reminded me of a bit on the darkplace dvd extras hehe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cr6ufGzlcwk&t=160

but it just seems really strange they haven't said which service it'll be aired on, that the carrier themselves aren't talking about it

I hope Netflix too, its a good fit but I wonder if thatd be a problem for marvel.

I'll definitely be purchasing! I already own a couple of versions, though I played it through first on PS2 back in the day. I loved it, great cover mechanics and the abilities your biochipped gear afforded you were cool. Gunnar as a sentry, all that. Underrated I think, but I am biased I guess! Bring it on!

So excited for this! I hope they don't hold back on the extremes of Dredd's world. An opinion formed as a kid that I still have is that megacity one is simultaneously the scariest, cruelest, grimmest place but also exciting, salacious and even fun! Hoping for an 18 cert then!

I wonder what channel/service it'll be on, seems like its going ahead regardless?

Oh my god, yes that's it!! Thanks M.I.K.! That great art still absolutely repulses me, I'll be hunting down prog 928 :)

Its a great idea for a horror story, there'll always be something instinctually disturbing about a restaurant secretly putting something disgusting in your food. Add in the most grotesque results imaginable and voila!

I'd completely forgotten about the Lloyd Grossman comedy angle, reading his dialogue there in my best Vic Reeves doing Lloyd Grossman made me chuckle so ive got that to look forward to :)

Thanks again!
