Help! / Military people....

I've got this military type jacket with a badge on it. I got it out of a second hand shop quite a while ago, and I've always wondered where it came from and what the badge was all about. It's obviously some sort of Commie badge, but I wondered if any of the armed forces personnel who frequent this site would have come across it before? My uninformed guess (and the heavily quilted nature of the jacket) says eastern Europe, perhaps the Balkans or something? Any Ideas?

Odd request really-
I find myself having to resign a job to take up a better offer elsewhere. Being a relative 'newbie' to the so called 'professions', I've never had to write a formal letter of resignation. But I have to write one tonight, handing my notice in tomorrow. The only jobs I've ever quit before were minimum wage manual shite where I took great delight in saying:
"Take this job and shove it...!"
I can't burn any bridges here, as I'll still be working for the same company one day a week in another post, and I have no idea what a letter of resignation should be like. Can anyone offer any advice?

rather than necropost in the comps thread, I thought I could start a new thread for folks to use in thanking other boarders for whatever they need to thank them for.
Anyway, my horror grab bag for the caption comp arrived today, so a big THANK YOU to Lord Byron for the goodies- top stuff (including a comic with a Bryan Talbot cover and some Ade Bamforth artwork inside). Must have cost you an arm and a leg all in with the postage-
The rewards for your generosity shall be in whatever afterlife you believe in (i'll gie ye a scone when I bake!). Nice one.

A while ago you put up some Planet of the Damned pics, and I went and started looking around the Starlord site at watchthestars.sevenpennynightmare.
One of the artists working on that strip was a bloke called Azpiri- (fantastic).

General / S/D- B&W or not?

Seeing the advert for the next Strontium Dog story in last weeks 2k, I got to remembering 'Roadhouse'. I wasn't online when this was on the go and got to wondering about what others thought of Carlos' (or someone else's) decision to go B/W on it.
I thought it was great- almost like a blast from the past, but somehow shiny and updated (except for the big, coloured sound effects, which looked a bit daft). I'd like to see more S/D done in black and white line art- what does anyone else reckon?

A note to remaining Necs- the group page has been nominated for deletion, as it hasn't been edited in a while, although we have support from people who have seen us about. As we are still listed on the UD stats page it is unlikely that we will get deleted. I also broke my self-imposed exile to vote against, so i would imagine that would swing things our way. I've linked the deletion page here if anyone wants to add weight, but be mindful of protocol- remember they are, in the main, a shower of self-agrandising cockpouches on the wiki...

The punk band I'm in recorded a 4 track ep before xmas, which has been binned due to our singer quitting a week after it was done. It hasn't been properly mastered, and never will be. Unless you happen to be drinking in a crappy pub in Moray, Scotland you'll never hear us either so you can download it all, along with the cover pics at the following linky (a DIY EP CD). If you like it tell me (we need cheering up) , if you hate it- rip the pish (annoying people is fun). :D

Just watched Mad Max 1 on Sky and got to thinking- I know Death Race 2000 is always cited as influencing Dredd, but has Carlos/ Wagner ever mentioned the Bronze? It seems so obvious- black leather, the bronze chest badge, shoulderpads, bikes, Hall of Justice etc- only I can't remember when it was made.
