Film & TV / Farscape fans
15 September, 2009, 02:13:46 PM
Until recently, I have never been able to buy all of Farscape, my favorite sci-fi programme, due to the ridiculous price for a 4 episode box, let alone a complete box set.

Just to let anyone know who's interested - i just got all 4 series box sets from asda for 111.00 - slightly better than the £264 wanted by hmv

General / Time Bomb

I'm sure this would be done in us comics rather than 2000ad but, have you ever thought that Alpha could be brought back to life re. a time bomb scenario?!

Just a thought I had whilst reading this weeks S/D

Help! / looking for an interview
08 September, 2009, 04:24:49 PM
John Wagner, in my opinion must be (one of) the most constistantly-good writers of comics/sci-fi.  Therefore, having never seen him interviewed, has anybody got any  links of video of him online?

thanks

Off Topic / look what's in the loft
06 September, 2009, 05:02:56 PM
whilst over at my parents this weekend, I decided to have a look in their loft to see what goodies of my youth might be stashed up there.

firstly, i found 2 books potaining to the Judge Dredd rpg,(one of the books says on the cover: read thid first?!) If anybody wants these dusty books or if they're just hard to get? I'll happily send them for postage or a pint, depending where you're based

The second thing, (completely forgot about,) I found around 35 Fighting fantasy books, (the ones where you skip to a given page depening on action eg. turn west p77 or turn east p88)

So, looking forward to enjoying these.

I've started a blog, as a fictitious mystic-mouse?!

http://mystic-mouse.blogspot.com

Also, I popped into The Illustration Cupboard, 22 Bury Street, St. James's where they have a Kevin O'Neil exhibition to the 18th of this month.

They've got League of extraordinary gentle TPBs and the new one signed by Kevin and Alan Moore!

Going to the isle of wight, so checked online with the ferry company for times etc.

Then checked my aol email and beside the inbox was an advert for that ferry company?!

Guess aol usede the ferry site cookie to create the advert - would that be right?

Kind of clever and yet sinister?

House of usher: tres intelligent and scary.

quake: righteous dude

johnnystress: knows the score

the cosh: never letting the bastards grind him down

Off Topic / Musical Thrills
15 June, 2009, 05:30:05 PM
I often adapt 2000ad images with photoshop to use as wallpaper on my phone and then try to choose a peice of music that suits that thrills.

At the moment a have an awesome SHAKARA!!! image with Orbital's The box remix as a ring tone.

What music do you associate with thrills, Dredd, Dante etc?

Off Topic / thoughts on a 'flat' ending
11 June, 2009, 10:40:18 AM
I was thinking re. zombo:

I would have ended it with zombo merging with the shadow and the planet itself:-

mrs lawyer flys away on a ship,

looking back at the planet once in orbit and she sees the planet resembling a zombo-esque winking face?!

1. You'll probably think that's a terrible idea?

2. No disrespect is meant to either of the zombo droids

Have you thought of any alternative endings for thrills in the past?  (other than beck and kawl being killed on the second panel in?!)
