This is my favourite show on TV at the moment.

I'm curious how some of you know what happened at the end though, since we've still got a few episodes to go yet. Are those of you American viewers or did you download the episodes?

The last episode I saw involved the fight between Sylar and the young Petrelli guy (names aren't my strong point). The one where he eventually meets up with Claire again at his mothers house.  Great episode but, ouch.

Found the brutality of the Captain more horrific than any of the monsters.

I get you there. The scene where he 'beats' the face of one of the 'rabbit' hunters was particularly disturbing.

I actually found myself cheering when

the servant/resistance lady gave the captain some of his own medicine. "I'm not old and wounded... etc."

The way she escaped was a bit too easy, you'd think they would have searched her right? but I enjoyed it just the same. Although the split mouth bit made me wince...

Not sure what that says about me but it's great to see nasty characters get their come-uppance isn't it?

Yep, I caught it this time. Very interesting film. I think a slightly warped mind thought some of that stuff up though... great scary eye monster. Heh heh.

I didn't find it particularly scary, but I think maybe I've become hardened to that type of thing. Would probably have freaked me out as a kid though.

I meant to watch it on Film 4+1, the other day, but I understimated when the film started. Still, I don't mind too much as I'm sure it will be repeated again soon. Most Film 4, er, films, are.

oh, and whilst I've taken a holiday from the game, I will give that train level another go... I haven't given up completely.

I love this game. I got really into it and played it day after day for hours, then got stuck on the hover train level. After a few attempts I gave up, and I haven't played it again for months.  Glad to know that I'm not the only one who had problems with that level though. I guess the key is to make certain that you do a good job defending the train before that point. It's a shame that returning to that point gives the train 50% damage as it seem impossible after that.

Concerning the rogue trooper colour, I'm pretty certain it's a camouflage thing. Dark blue is good for blending into shadows in particular. Possibly even better than black since only the deepest shadow appears black. As others have said, grey is even better.

As for the standalone gun's recoil etc, would these future weapons have a recoil? If they do they probably would have found a way to reduce it with some kind of dampening technology. Apart from that, the bullets might have been fired by some kind of electromagnetic technology rather than an explosive charge in a cartridge. With that system I'm not certain there would be a recoil at all.

Has the tech been remarked upon at all in past stories?

I love this game, but I can't get past the train level either.

Main problem is, you really need to get past the first half of that sequence with minimal damage to the train. If there's more you fail and when you are returned you're on 50%. trouble is I find it impossible to complete the rest of that level on 50%.

Of course I'm probably a bit rubbish...

Oh and I thought the girl they were pursuing in that strip looked rather like Anderson how she appeared in the earlier stories. Something about the eyes...

Sick.

I liked it!

I have an idea for a werewolf strip too. (Actually I'm working on a script for a kind of werewolf script now, but thats a whole different strip...)

When I saw this thread I thought "Oh no... someone beat me to it."

On reading it though, it's rather different (but very good!), so mine should still work. If I get it done.

Yeah.  The main difference between the cheese in this film and others is that the cheese seemed intentional. If that makes sense...

The review mentions :
Elektra, Satana, Black Canary and Oracle .

I don't know much about Satana, but big plumpies aside, those are all strong women aren't they? I know Elektra is. In a comic book I read some while back she actually beat Wolverine in a fight... and bear that's without any super powers!

Comics do exploit women to the extent that many are depicted curvy bodies, but that's hardly hatred of women is it? Men are depicted with huge rippling muscles too. Some might argue women might like that... (depending on the womens taste of course...

As for Sin City, I liked the film.  A comic book movie in the actual comic book style which actually works is a rare thing. As for the Sin City portrayal of women, I've only read one Sin City graphic novel, and the women in that were dealt with sympathetically.  I forget the name, but the entire focus of the story was that very point.

That'd be the curly hair.

Could you imagine that though. "Huh ya right. I'm gonna totally pop those rascals, get loads of dosh and have a Devine time."

"Ho no Red, keep those fangs sheethed, whilst your down there.". (Possibly went to far there..)

(Imagine with posh accent to get the gist. Quite poor actually.)

Off Topic / Re: Chronicles of Riddick............

Sorry, someone beat me to the above quote. I wrote that post before reading all the others. Don't normally do that but I was excited at someone else having seen They Live!, as it's not a film that get mentioned much.

As for Chronicles of Riddick.. I didn't mind it. Since it's based around the same character I assume it's set in the same universe as Pitch Black, but it doesn't feel the same does  it? Pitch black had a feel closer to the real world, like what you get in Alien films (not just because of the aliens, I'm referring to the industrialization etc.) Riddick felt more like a big sci-fi fantasy universe like Star Wars.

Also being a Furion, is that a kind of humanoid alien? Or just the descendants of human colonists? A genetic line which deviated to some extent from the main 'human soup' so to speak?

I never did quite work out what the Necromongers were either, but I figured they were another branch of humanity, albeit one that had somehow delved into a dark part of the universe and got warped and empowered by it somehow....

I know the Judy Dench character was an alien but I got the impression she was a bit of an exception, although granted aliens animals do exist int that universe (hence those critters from Pitch Black.)

For a film that is a bit rubbish (I liked it, but it is!) it does pose interesting questions, and a world that could be interesting to explore further, if done right.

No, I take it back. Rowdy Roddy Piper (I know own a DVD of They Live!)

I've got that one! I watched it recently at a friends house too and I think she liked it.

Such classic lines:  "I came  here to chew bubble-gum and kick butt and I'm all out of bubble-gum."
"Life's a bitch and now she's in heat."

I always thought he was a bit too quick to kill the aliens but it's a great film.
