Creative Common / Britformers Comic
29 July, 2017, 11:33:05 AM
https://m.facebook.com/Britformers/

Brychen Travers and myself have created a Transformers fanzine.  It's set in Britain and all the vehicles and house hold objects the characters transform into are British. We decided to set the story in the 1960s and based many of the characters appearances and personalities on famous Brits.  We've also tried to give the whole book a retro feel, avoiding digital colouring and doing the sort of articles and extras that used to be present in old British comics.
Issue zero is at the printers now, we'll be giving it away free at various comic cons as well as publishing it on the Britformers FB page.

Thanks for sharing the information, I'm very keen to work for them but they're usually hard make contact with.

My Comic got a mention on Transmissions podcast which is pretty cool. They kinda hinted that they thought it wasn't fan art and that I'm an in house artist at Space Ape (I'm not), but I take that as a compliment that they thought my art was too good to be fan art.
Anyhow it's nice to be talked about whatever the context.

Hi,
I'm a Aspiring comic artist and I've been working on various Fanzines for several years. Recently the people at Space Ape studio gave me permission to do a fan comic based on their story line.

The concept was to bring out the story at Easter and have the comic as an Easter egg hunt, with each page hidden on a different TF fan site.

I really hoped this would get me maximum exposure and possibly the attention of IDW, the comic has only been up a day and so far has been very popular.

Here's a link if anyone wishes to buy my first US comic. It's based on trump but it's the story of an undecided voter.

I also have a small press comic out today. Check out the link to futurequake winter special!  If anyone recognises the "Business man" I drew in this issue you'all see how I got the job illustrating Trump's comic.

That actually made me laugh out loud, you don't know how many redraws his hair took.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share what I've been up to.

Disclaimer; I'm not politically inclined with regard to the US election and this comic in no way reflects my views.

I've been drawing for Tidalwave comics (who are a relatively small US comic company) for a few months now and its great to finally draw something that gets media attention and a decent print run.

Creative Common / Non repro blue pencil
24 December, 2013, 12:19:38 AM
I recently bought some non reproduction blue lead for my automatic pencil.  I've heard about pencillers using it and thought I'd give it a go.  For those who don't know, the big plus of this product is that you don't have to rub out your pencil lines after you've inked.  However as ive recently found out there are some serious draw backs as well. The lead breaks really easily so you can't do rapid sweeping marks and you have to draw slowly.

I was wondering who else has used this product and I'd be interested to hear other people's opinions.
