Thanks for the info - after your recommendations/warnings I went to my LCBS and took a physical look at these books, and you were not exaggerating - the gutters are enormous. IDW does some quality collections and re-prints, so I don't understand why these were done so poorly.

IndigoPrime, that hardback collection looks incredible, I would love to have a HC Transformers run like that, but my only access to the UK market is through online book stores (like Amazon, More for U, and now Wordery - thanks). Looks like I might hold out for a proper US release for now.

You also get to see Dredd without his helmet in the Dead Man and Necropolis, but his face is badly disfigured so you really don't get an idea of what he really looks like. But you do get to see his eyes (at least his eye implants) are blue. (Also, for more dark Judges, see Case Files #2 as well).

Hi Sandman, I've only been reading Dredd for about a year now - I highly recommend collecting the Complete Case Files if you are really hooked and want the complete story. As Dandontdare suggested, if you want to read more Dark Judges Necropolis is a must - it is collected in its entirety in the Complete Case Files #14 (I also recommend reading The Dead Man before reading Necropolis).

Also, I would never want to see Dredd without his helmet. I think if we saw him take off his Judge helmet, he would just be wearing another Judge helmet underneath! (like a Russian nesting doll...)

Books & Comics / Transformers Classics - UK
16 November, 2016, 07:11:49 AM
Growing up (in Canada) I was always been a Transformers fan and really enjoyed most of the Marvel run, especailly the Simon Furman stuff. I've never had the chance to read the UK TF books and was wondering if these collections (Transformers Classics UK) would be worth reading. Any opinions?

Some recent additions.

GI Joe

These are great, I would love to know where you are able to track down GI Joe art! GI Joe and 2000AD are the only two comic properties I am passionate about these days.

Sorry I missed it! But I had a good excuse,  with the Atlantic being im the way and all.  ;)
I'm surprised to see the Gentleman in the Oakland Raiders jacket, i thought you blokes in the UK didn't care for American football!  :D

All of these were fun to read - I'm always surprised at the level of talent here (artists and writers).

1. The Legendary Shark - Tek Division (gotta like Dredd's closing remarks)
2. Eamonn Clarke - Hotdog
3. Mike D - Everyone loses Sometimes

1) MikeD - Ace Trucking Co (Lots of detail & fits the theme perfectly, well done!)
2) MrSibson - Vote Sump (My fave concept this month - very funny!)
3) The Legendary Shark - Bonjo (Something about that coloring...great job!)

HMs:
Mark Higgins - D.R. & Quinch Get Arrested (Amazing art, as always!)
Andy Lambert - Survival Geeks: Drumpf City (Awesome use of B&W)
Adrian Bamforth - Mind the Thrills, Marlon! (Prog Takeover) (I want to read this issue!)
Brian Corcoran - Mine's a MacMac (Great detail)
James Newell - Harke & Burr (I like the painted style)

Lots of great talent here again this month! I chose my top based on the art and how well the piece fit the theme. Well done to everyone who submitted an entry! (I'll try to submit one next month too)

I'd guess, though of course I have no idea, that they'd hold off on Charley's War since its had a recent reprint series which I think is still easy enough to get hold of (?). There's so much more stuff, which while not as recognisible, nor as good as Charley (well to be far what is) I'd hope will come first (The Sarge, The Sarge, The Sarge....)

Really good point there, Charleys War is readily available and inexpensive right now, it probably makes more sense for them to print other titles (The Sarge) first. and to Franks point, Titan may continue to have publishi rights as well.

I'm in the process of collecting Titans Charley's War (only have the first two) but might hold off collecting the rest to see what Rebellion is going to do with the series. I also really enjoy Garth Ennis Presents: Battle Classics and hope to see those continue as well.

Interesting, i didn't know he was still around, especially so recently. Did Dredd and Walter just shake hands after water's betrayal? I agree that he is only  good in small doses. Also, what prof are the pictures aabove from?
