The V.Cs - Over & out

After nearly 4 years of sci-fi based musical magic, The V.Cs have decided to call it a day. Weâ??ve all had a hell of a laugh throughout the time weâ??ve been around and are eternally grateful to all those who have shown their support to us in any capacity.

A massive thank you must go out to those people involved in making it all happen. Thank you to all the musicians, promoters, engineers, friends, advisors and most of all, fans, for helping us when we needed it and making us feel like superheroes!

Our last release will be â??Residual Energy of the Broken Heartedâ? which appears on Lupine Recordâ??s â??Tales From The Luxâ? compilation which will be available from http://www.myspace.com/lupinerecords and at our final 2 gigs in Manchester and Wigan. You can listen to this track now on our MySpace.

There may be future material/recordings released, including a possible story that will appear on thevcs.com, but there are no plans for The V.Cs to play live after November 1st.

Over but not out:

Lancashire band The V.C.s formed in the early naughties. A local troupe from the Wigan area, the band proliferated an unsigned geek-rock, prog-indie and experimental sound to naturally limited success in their time, before an amicable split and real life kicked in.

Either standing for Venture Capitalists or named after a future war series that appeared in the science fiction comic 2000 AD, The V.C.s – and a million other outfits just like them – recorded some tunes, shifted a few records and enjoyed a decent local following ... then the dream was snuffed.

But where The V.C.s story detours from the usual formula is that their music has been resurrected in the purest commercial fashion. Rather than sitting atop a pile of records we'll never know existed, Channel 5 has given them a pay day with a prime time airing, using the band's noise as soundtrack to new seasons and shows for both UK and US schedules.

As far as Buck is aware, The V.C.s Residual Energy for the Broken Hearted being used to promote Teens and Screams seasons and their Nice Place we'll Take it is promoting new show Chuck on both Five Star and Five USA.
