There's nothing particularly memorable for me in Peaty's work- Skip Tracer just looks dull- I did read it at first but it just didn't resonate. Gradually I just stopped reading and flick through it- nothing really draws me in, I find the art very bland- I'm just not fan of Marshall's. I haven't gone back and looked at it but the overall impression I have is of samey, bland colour throughout. That might not be 100% accurate but it's the impression it has left skimming it week to week. Still, at least it's not infuriating crud and Fleisher has served up enough of that to put him in negative equity.

Junker was utter bilge, HH was incomprehensibly boring- someone else has already highlighted the chronically bad dialogue and I agree, it was pathetically bad; his Rogue Trooper took some vaguely interesting ideas and ground them into utter tedium, despite being serviced by some top quality artists. There is no way in hell Fleisher is getting a win or even a draw from me and 'not particularly memorable' is better than 'memorably awful', so...

I was thinking 4-1 to Abnett, but then I remembered... endless Sin/Dex.

If you've been drinking fairly heavily for a while, completely stopping is not advisable- there can be serious health issues arising from the bodies reaction to 'cold turkey'. Days 3-5 (apparently) are key days where people are more likely to suffer seizures, hallucinations and other health concerns (not to mention death, which can happen through withdrawal shock). Just enough to take the edge off withdrawal is good enough and in that context, falling off the wagon a few days here and there is less risky. Jim's strategy of gradual reduction holds water.

I'm no expert, but my wife is (though she's too modest to agree with me), she's an experienced addictions worker. She says the safest way is to get a home detox, though how you go about this will depend on where you are, as services differ from region to region and we're in Scotland, which would be entirely different to systems outside of Scotland as Health is devolved. However, this would usually involve local health services of some sort and might go on your medical record, so it depends on how you feel about that.

Anyway- good luck with reducing your intake everyone and I would reiterate what Jim says about thinking about the days you didn't drink rather than the days you did.

I don't dislike Tomlinson's stuff, some of it anyway- Tor Cyan was okay, though I never got on with Armoured Gideon during its run- really disliked the art rather than anything to do with the story as such so it didn't get read.
Rennie has far too many great stories under his belt for Tomlinson to come anywhere near though. I used to like Rennie's Dredd too- Couch Potatoes sticks in mind, it really felt like 'classic' Dredd- I'd love to see more Dredd from him, though I' guessing that's wishful thinking. He's a writer who, for me, would win hands down over almost any other 2kad writer.

Hope has been great but it's a bad draw for Adams...

John Smith is a unique talent and though occasionally I've struggled with some of his work, other stuff has been brilliant.
I have to put aside Emma Beeby's collaborations as I don't know how much of it is down to her or Gordon or the sum of both, because that's a thing too (Wagner & Grant, John Wagner, Alan Grant are also all different beasts for example), though I do like Survival Geeks a lot, I just don't recall anything else. On that note, it really has to be...

We must also take this in perspective that although guys like Pat and John is still writing or at least still contributed recently to the prog they are still classic writers in my viewpoint.

Very much this.

Some of those Tales of Telguuth were okay, don't remember much else though. I do remember some of Hogan's stuff though.

I really like The Order- messed up fun, Millar has Silo and that's about it for me. On the other hand, the endless sea of Deadworld goopy guff permeating everything over the last while is driving me up the fucking wall so there's nae any full points getting awarded on this one.

Admittedly, much of the reason I like The Order and Silo is the art and much of why is dislike Deadworld guff is the art - so feel free to disqualify my vote on the basis that I am not wholly judging the writers on their merits alone.

MILLAR 0 KEKS 2

Ammended vote (forgot all about Purgatory which I quite enjoyed)
MILLAR 1 KEKS 3

I still reckon 2 points between them is fair, so Kek gets another point gratis.
