For this most 35th of months, CrazyFoxMachine and Lady Festina have joined forces to bring you the Ultimate Birthday Treat. Yes, the Forum Art and Story Competitions are COMBINING to become a collaboration spectacular.
We're looking for ALL sorts of 35th anniversary themed contributions. We want tributes, birthday cards, gifts, messages, rants, raves and whatever the mind of Pete Wells dares to bring us.
And we want you to work together. This is your chance to emulate one of the great 2000AD partnerships: Wagner and Ezquerra; Mills and O'Neill; Torvill and Dean. (Ed: Are you sure about that one?)
PM each other, tout here for helpers and put up what you've done - it's a celebration so anyone and everyone is welcome to contribute. It doesn't have to be super-sophisticated (Ed: stick men are welcome, but Lady F says no more limericks, please!).
Contributions welcome until 26th February (the official birthday) then some voting, but we'll keep the thread going as long as people want to contribute.
Happy 35th, 2000AD, from your loyal fans.
Hey artist-types - please PM me if you'd like to collaborate on an idea.
(Ed: The Crazy Fox is available for colouring and lettering!)

Done and Done. I would discourage people from writing like five-pagers or owt - you've only got til the 26th - !
Do I have to colaborate or can i do the writing and art all by myself?
I'm up for a bit of scripting ....if someone will take me by the hand lol
Hi guys
IF there's any artists out there not paired up with someone yet, I have a short and snappy 2 pager brewing if you are interested. Shout out here or drop me a PM.
Cheers!
Dirk
A quick update from the mod-room:
We would love to see collaborations this month but PLEASE don't think that a collaboration simply means script + art = comic. Think Advent Calendar type collaboration / creativity. This is YOUR tribute to 35 years of glory (well, mostly), so it can come in any format you like (I really hope someone's doing a song ;)).
We also welcome the return of the Stick Men.
Wellllll... I could do another song.
If i can bloody think of one.
needed either an artist or mr s watson for a psychedellic jaunt through 2000ads dark past featuring the two guys in my avatar...
Art project wise I'm maxed out until mid March, however I might be able to draw a simple 1 pic character peice with simple background for a song, Limerick or even just a one off poster type thing and get it finished before the 26th Feb?
Cheers,
Bus.
I'm going to do a song about the history of Twoth, so if there is any artist who wants to do me a pic as background (your choice of subject etc) of at least A4 size landscape format, I will use it as background to the songs video.
Please PM me if you want to join me, and when someone has volunteered I will post here.
Looks like I'm on for this, teamed up with Uncle Fester
So obviously as he's the artist and I can't draw to save my life we're swapping duties and he's gonna write it.
Cant wait. Its gonna be fucking EPIC!!! ...in a wobbly stick man kinda way
I may have a few ideas of my own.
Anyone interested in creating an audio play?! ;)
Aah, glad to see the juices are flowing (so to speak).
Bluemeanie: I've seen the first draft of Uncle Fester's script for you to draw. I think it's revenge for all those crowd shots in Dark Judgement 2....
Well I've seen my thumbnails where I ignore what he wrote and drew whatever I liked.
Call it revenge for Dark Judgement 1 AND 2
BOOSHHHHHHH!!
Really tho, had a go at it today. Cant draw for shit but having fun anyway. PLEASE tell me thats the point :o
And we're off!
My new song, called "1977", based on Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire". Perfect, I thought, for a retrospective look at Twoth.
Mind you, I'm not that good at singing it!
Used Aero's covers montage (again) for the background, because it's just too perfect!
Hope you all like it

Over on the Play Dredd Forum I'm offering up a new game starting on 26th February.
Anyone interested in checking it out are more than welcome. There are rules involved in such a thing but they'll be easy to follow. Lurkers always welcome but more fun if people join in the action.
I'm offering two suggestions for plot, a poll is up for people to decide what they would prefer (I will go with majority of signed up members of Play Dredd in the case of any tie).

Has, uh, this FAILED spectacularly or is everyone beavering away quietly on entries? On the plus side, Alski's lovely song is a shoe-in!
I'm available for single images if anyone has an idea!

I'm quietly beavering away, and I assume everyone else is. No writing this time though. I'm making an image ;)

Not quite sure if I am breaking the rules here but I am actually collaborating with...MYSELF on something...that is to say I AM DRAWING MY OWN SCRIPT!!!!!! I feel I can still meet the requirements of the comp by teaming up with somebody to letter it and add some wonderful sound effects (CFM??) so hopefully Lady F will allow it.
Obviously, my drawing ability is pretty fucking shit so this is going to be a creative travesty...but what the heck eh? :)
If you're feeling unconfident artistically I could to give it a bit of a polish colourwise as well ;)
Absolutely oh craziest of foxy machines!
I have my pencils done for the 2 pages (oh how I laugh when I look at them)- just going to ink them up over the weekend. I can scan and send to you on Monday .... and if you don't die laughing, you can do what you want with them! :)
Too late. My evil uploads itself upon the Internet! Er slightly raggedy Twoothy logo but oh well!
Of course as I'm only starting my game on the 26th nothing to show at all yet.
Not even sure which plot it will run with!!! Oooo the tension is palpable in the Kingdom... Batlings are in quite a tizz.
IATS that is Awesome!!!
IATS!
fantastic....hahahaha!
Cheers folks but I've realized the eagles on the wrong shoulder! Swapped the figure around in Manga 4.0 and forgot about the Eagle! D-oH!

Love this!
"-Who commisioned that shite?!"
Probably why Tharg's getting a beating in the (also awsome) pic above.
I'm nearly done.... tho me and Conor have done a full colour 4 page comic so its taking a while with the whole "I can't actually draw or letter" thing.
Should go up by thursday. Getting there
IT'S TIME FOR THE INEVITABLE.
Wait...was this inevitable? No. Actually, no I don't think it was. IT'S TIME FOR IT ANYWAY.

and a preview pic
...is that... "Jimp Campbell Woz 'Ere" in COMIC SANS?!?!?!?! Oh crikey you're in for it now!
I absolutely adore it. Move aside Mr Boyle, Dark Judgement 3 has a new artist!
Damn your eyes sirs! How dare you mock Shezza Kerl? She's the people's princess. Has the forum etiquette thread taught you naught?
As for the handsome, rather portly fella in the Greggs T-Shirt. Surely the panel description says he has a look of rugged sexiness, kind of like a mix between Brad Pitt and Jeanette Kranckie?
Great stuff though, I may well enter this myself...
Mucho PROPS to CFM for taking my childish scribbles and making them look bloody good! The man is legendary!
BM and Conor - that's a fine slice of goodness right there! :)
Still nothing concrete from me on behalf of Play Dredd.
But I can confirm that our present is a game run by me set around a Hotdog Run. Please pop by, join in or lurk.
http://playdredd.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=pbfplayers&thread=123&page=2
Still working on mine. Gonna take a while...but I will finish it!!!
It finishes this Sunday by the way ;)
Aww nuts!
I don't think I'd make that deadline. I'll finish it and post it anyways. it's got the Mekon and everything in it!!!
Sounds excelent!
Wish I was half as talented as all you guys on here.

You probably are plus more. just do it...and fuck the naysayers!
Of course as my present STARTS Sunday it is not really eligible to win...
Final call for Players in the 35th Birthday Game starting tomorrow over on Play Dredd.
Hot Dog Run - I'm looking for one person willing to give the game a go. minimum requirements are:
- You create a brief character background for a Cadet aged 15. (a few sentences is enough, five or six paragraphs is probably all you need for a rounded starting place)
- You check the game on the Play Dredd forum daily and post a reply to what is going on at least once within 24 hours of my scvene setting post (scene setters are in bold so easily recognised.
- You accept my editing of all replies to make a continuous text that keeps everything flowing.
Non-player participants are invited to take part in this game, there will be simple rules posted on Play Dredd tomorrow to show what they can do but basicly that is:
- May (don't have to) post once within 24 hours of my scene setting post and once more if all Player Cadets have posted
- May manipulate certain NPCs, including causing them injury, maiming or death
- Must not kill certain NPCs or any Player Cadet

[/list]
No commitment to stay... We are just throwing open our game to any and all that are interested. Simon Pegg is definitely welcome...
Here's my solo effort.

Nice pic - you'd think he would be a bit happier about the anniversary! :D
OK - my present is started...
http://playdredd.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pbfgamesprogress
I realised I made a few errors planning the game. Cadets are aged 17... Year 12. The year the game is set in is 2127.
Already got these on my blog (http://malcolmkirk.blogspot.com/), but thought I'd stick thum on here an' all. All these 2000ad character doodles were done in 15 seconds each. You might recognise the first eight, (posted them elsewhere on the forum three years ago, image links are now a bit knackered though), but the last eight were drawn last night.

Right - I assume because it's midnight and because it's not the final day of the contest that
IT'S FINISHED
Cheers for the entries everyone - but as Liz said, the thread will be left open for people to pop in their tributes to 2000ad's 35th as and when they please - just anything beyond this point won't be eligible for the vote - !
Hi All,
I just didn't finish my epic contribution in time to make the vote. But really I'm not here to win prizes, just to share my obsessive love off all things 'two-thy'.
So here is a 35-year video timeline of 2000AD made by compiling all my Covers vids and then adding some....
full details posted in the info area under the video on youtube.
enjoy....

BTW I could only manage to render this in 720p and also the covers are reduced in size to fit. To see the covers in full 1080p checkout my individual covers videos, links posted in my "Updated 2000AD Front Covers videos" thread
