Love this series, and I'm so glad they let it have that long run of episodes. They could extend the next one to 20 eps or so and I'd be happy.

Success! Although now I see I used an apostrophe wrong.  :-[
Congratulations!  Also, there was a stray 'e' in the same word :-P

:'(

Agreed on John Charles, he has done the seemingly impossible in colouring Yoewell and making it look great.

Yes, I've read some episodes of Dead Meat and didn't mind it to be honest. Actually I'd happily read reprints of any of those stories because I missed a big chunk of issues around that time.

Yeah, that was pretty much my reaction too! Maybe the floppies should reprint Junker, Dead Meat and Trash, and we'll end up loving them...

Nice one-off Dredd although I found the ending pretty grim. I know Dredd often ends with a bit of dark humour and over-the-top sentences being given out for minor crimes, but
'your major organs are riddled with inoperable tumours', you're family probably have them too, and now you're going to jail for the rest of your life for a crime you weren't aware of committing??
Geez that was depressing.

Jaegir and SinDex are ticking all the boxes for me. Loving this SinDex set up. I'm glad they addressed the issue of Ray and Tracy the other week too, seeing as their romantic relationship, which has lasted probably about 15-20 years, hadn't been mentioned at all since the sharks arrived in this reality!

I'm having a bit of trouble following Anderson too. Not so much the Karyn thing, though that could use a little explanation, and I thought the different coloured telepathy speech balloons worked well. I just need to go back and read the start of the story as I'm not sure what's actually happening!
Also why is the doctor judge grinning while Anderson tells him he's under arrest? And how is Flowers able to catch a flying knife by the blade? That Justice Academy training is really thorough!
Stront is great, I though Carlos was on good form and the alien designs are ace. Love
the thoughtful Johnny looking out the window at the violence and not going to sort it out. What's going on his mind?
Great subtle stuff.

This is my first post using spoilers so I hope I do it right and don't ruin the prog for hundreds of Squaxx!

Yeah, I thought this held up very well when I read it in the floppies in a concentrated burst. In the prog I got lost a bit as to what was happening and who was meant to be the main character, but on reflection by the third series it's the overall concept that's the main thing. I think Karl Richardson is great, fantastic imagination and he designs tech etc really well, also a great colourist. My only criticism is his male characters often seem to have similar (sort of Dredd-like ) chins. More chin variety in future please!

The Witch

As it just on Netflix so watch it first time. Wow that was so brilliant. So perfect horror film that I want for long time, so terror by some moments there. But the first part with
what happens to the baby would haunting me.
I know a lot of people who raved about this movie, but it didn't quite click for me. There was a lot to like, but ultimately the eerie creepy mood was constantly being undercut be silly things I just couldn't take seriously. Like
a goat named Phillip was really the devil all along and then he started talking.
I liked that it had a happy ending though.

Was the stuff with the goat and the devil not meant to be (possibly) all just puritan paranoia and near-starvation hallucination, though? True enough, Philip seems a silly name for a goat. But those two kids that named it were weirdos.

I'm enjoying this phase of your slog Colin as it's covering the period I was away from the Prog, though I've read the 'bigger' stories, like the Final Solution, in reprints. I've never read a single episode of Dry Run though, or Shadows. Has Shadows ever been reprinted? Surely it's prime Meg floppy material, being by a relatively 'big name' writer, and neatly self-contained.

Still, it couldn't get worse... expect it did. 883: The execrable and wantonly sexist Babe Race 2000 (Millar); The Clown Book 2 (two books too many); Dredd in Manchu Candidate (which, fortunately, didn't go any further); Grudgefather; Millar Robo-Hunter. That's zero out of five for me.

One of the worst Progs ever – can anyone find one that's even worse?

Heh heh heh. This prog was actually the one that made me return to 2000ad having realised it was still on the shelves after several years. This and the Best of 2000ad featuring ABC's in the Black Hole. Obviously its a rubbish prog, but I was just so delighted to find 2000ad was still going that I placed a regular order with my newsagent straight away! I mean some of the artwork was actually painted! PAINTED! IN A COMIC! Sam Slade was still around! I describe this experience in unnecessary detail over in the 'introducing yourselves' thread. I guess I got back on board at a good time to watch things improve and improve!

Ahh, great, thanks! Now I can spout my foul opinions to all and sundry! (They won't be foul, I promise).

Cover to #16 is now up on Hatchette's site (Nemesis the Warlock vol.3), but it's different to the one on Forbidden Planet's site.
Loving the John Hicklenton cover there. The FP one was always a temporary one as evidenced by the lack of proper design to the title.

I'd always thought that Nemesis was naked in that Hicklenton drawing. It now appears he is wearing some red skin-hugging trousers. Astonishing artwork nonetheless.
