following the ad in a first person view playing footie i wondered why no ones done a fps footie game before?

Well, I wouldn't be suprised if they have soccer/football as a mini game in GTA Four.

As a feature would have been almost as good as your idea had been implemented in 'Canis Canem Edit' other wise known as 'Bully'.

Where you could visit the School's football oval (In game) and kick the ball around. There were afew in game missons where you had to dress up as the team mascot. Perform the speical dance by tapping the same keys that appear up on the screen and throwing the ball at enemy jocks.

Thouugh that would be as far as having a good foot ball would go in thsi game.

So your idea has only partly realised.

cant for the life of me remember the name of it but I swear a first person Soccer (I know Football but to me that involves a non-round red ball and four posts on each end) game was released for the PS1, may of even been a Sony produced game.  It was a good idea but resticted by the Hardware of the time, IIRC reviews also commented on the fact that if your team wasn't much good you'd veryu rarely get the ball and spend alot of time watching everyone else kick it around(I dont think you could change who you were, so if you are a striker thats what you stay no hot swapping to follow the ball).

FPS sports thats my style, get a gun and use it to get from one end of the pitch to the other.

I can't see the problem of a 10 vs 10 team (goalie auto) to be made. You can have 26 vs 26 on fps so why not a Fifa/PES version??

There's a Half-Life mod that does what I think you're after...

A 10 vs 10 multiplayer football game?  Couldn't you just... y'know...  go outside and Play Football?

Surely the fun of footie-based videogames is that you're controlling an entire team, rather than just doing a deeply lazy and sun-fearing version of what anyone with 10 mates and a ball can do for free?

Jesus christ man- don't you read the Daily Mail?!?

It's too bloody dangerous out there- the streets are teaming with peados, immigrants and hoodies wanting to stab you for your mobile phone!

Satanist

There was a game on Ps1 or 2 called "Libero Grande" where you played in the same position for the whole game. Im 50% sure that you could play  in 1st person.
It was a bit gash though.
Hmm, just pretend I wrote something witty eh?

ThryllSeekyr

Oh, I didn't you meant FIRST person Perspective.

Dark Jimbo

An ABC warriors game, whereby you could switch between team members during missions, having the others free roam or respond to a set series of commands in the meantime.

If you need a bit of sniping or covering fire, you take Joe Pineapples up onto a roof while the others draw enemey fire. Getting into enemy bases, through walls and other demolition jobs you use Mongrol or Mek-Quake, natch. If you meet some sort of enemy techno-sorceror and need to fight fire with fire Deadlock's going to be your man, and so on.

Bliss.

How about a brooding futuristic game set in a morbid post-nuclear dystopia where the only way to survive... WAS TO DANCE? It'd be like Bust A Groove meets Fallout!
Try again. Fail again. Fail better.

Thogh there's a Great Escape game I'm surprised there isn't, to my knowledge, a Sims/strategy type game where you arte in command of a WWII prison camp escape. You would be in charge of assigning people to dig/pilfer/collect/distract etc as various tunnels are being created. Each level would be a different compound from Great Escape type camps Colditz castle where a glider is under construction in the loft. It's a winner I tell you! Anyone ever seen anything like this?

Noisybast

Yep. Wasn't very good, though.

The Spectrum version, however, was a thing of true beauty!
