Off Topic / question regarding writing and not working
11 November, 2018, 04:16:28 PM
Some of you may know I tinker a bit in the writing dept. not expecting to make megabucks etc but I have about 8 novels etc half written but struggling to find the time. yes, I know the cliche of finding the time comes easy if you have the passion etc but I have a proper 16 hr a day job.

however, I am probably going to be made redundant early 2021 when contracts end and as I will be 49 then I want to have a 6-12 month drive to write full time (using savings)...

is there a way to contribute NI still or should I just 'write on' (wick)... I doubt I'll make pensionable age but has anyone any advise etc.

hope someone knows what i'm asking....

Was so sick of the rival factions, governor, then the saviors...and Negan was so annoying (he spoke like he was delivering punchlines on a bad radio 4 comedy, like dr cox on scrubs) Just talk like a human!

Nice to see the survival side without guns....for a change

Late to the party as only just watched episode one.
I always give the new Drs a go...Loved Smith's first series and Capaldi's same but they lost me soon after.
1. Jodie...no problems except she seemed a bit too Matt Smith for me...hopefully she'll find her own soon. Love her costume...
2. NO MORE MURRAY GOLD!!!!!!!! get in...i HATED his too loud, too dramatic music. HATED, I tell you. The new music is a welcomed change.
3. Good mix of companions.
4. Some proper harsh deaths...
the security guard on the phone to his granddaughter anyone?
5. Loved the twist
where you thought he was idolizing the dr(i hope that was a statement of intent) but it was his nan!
QuoteI think it's fair to say that we all know how easy it is to be tripped by the most innocuous event, sometimes without us even realising it has happened.

So true..all keep well.

Anyone watching season 4?

I enjoy this a great deal...i really wanted to like the dour/sour/ultra gritty(?) Netflix Luke Cage, JJones, DDevil et al but was just bored and rarely finished a season. this is all good campy fun with a dash of the old ultra-violence...

Will not be going to see. I didn't go to see Solo because 8 was sooo boring and directionless ( i still don't understand how rebels can jump ship for a side quest) but 9 can get tae fook! I'm OK with a lot of the new crap but Poppins and Holdo and Rian Johnson...nope.

I understand that they are trying to garner the next gen of fans but its too soon to alienate the old guard
At least DR who took a few seasons to utterly alienate the old guard (IMHO)....

All my opinion...I'm not spitting the dummy out etc...just moved on....Nu SW is not meant for me...

I stayed away for a few days ecause I vaguely recalled I had posted here and was sure I'd made a fool of myself. Your comments (and a private message) gave me strength...and seriously, Thanks for taking the time to respond. helped considerably.

A long time ago I saw a play on BBC (I think) about a man who wanted to stay in a hospital bed who wasn't sick...this obviously caused problems etc and was probably 'an satyre of the daye on the NHS' or something...anyone have an idea?

My understanding of the problem was that schools thought of IT as a separate subject when in reality (and my humble but apparently misguided opinion) was that IT should be integrated into ALL subjects to some degree.

I move from the dog sitting on me to it barking at me to go for things. Rapid cycling. I have the pills but the hyper stuff helps me in work. win/lose always. Not taking lithium for anyone.
