The first half an hour or so of the Dredd film worked for me. I was very satisfied.
It just went downhill from there. I think a clone storyline would have been better suited to a sequal as it required the audience to care for Dredd which was impossible, given the short time the film had to introduce him.

Now, if the film had shown Dredd battling an evil, defending the city, putting his life on the line for the citizens instead of himself, it would have probably fared better and spawned a sequal...then they could have bored us with the clone conspiracy if they really had to.

Might be controversial but I still think demolition man is a great film.

Lenny Henry did a sort of CSI:UK sketch on his latest 'comedy' show. I remember thinking it had huge potential, if only someone else had thought of it....

Got mine from worlds apart yuesterday. Nice looking book and the paper not too shabby. Reminiscent of tyhe Marvel Essential series.

I love the fact that there is a wedge of stories in there (02-60) and a thicker volume. I think this shows an understanding of the task ahead.

As for the content...well, persoanlly it's probably not going to read cover to cover. I have most of the stories anyway and they don't stand up to he test of time....but I bought it because I want the complete case files. Simple.

I hope rebellion are committed to publishing this series in bi-monthly format as I intend to buy every release. I just don't hope I end up with another bunch of early stories (complete JD mag anyone?) and it dies before I get to the stuff that I want.

Questions: 2000ad changed size at 520 what will happen to the size of the volumes?

The blurb says complete and uncut....so, inevitable question, yawn, burger wars blah blah....

May as well add my thoughts here too.

Shimura. This , to me, feels like a dreadful Marvel Team-up. Then again it did begin with the 'Hey 2000ad readers, buy the Meg it's got Judge Dredd in it as well, you know' issue...so I can understand. It did start well.

Warzone, is just poor. Another team-up. The characters are dull and well, I have come to expect a greater degree of sophistication form the meg over the years. This is just, well, naff.

Koburn is very good. having been away from the meg for a few years (the reprint years killed me), this is the first I have seen of himmand it'll do me niceley. It's the only story that has that quirky meg humourous streak that is blatantly missing from the other strips.
