Bolt-01

Rather than starting new threads every time I want to waffle about the finest comics in the small press, I've decided to have a generic thread that I can update whenever I like.

To start the thread, here is the cover for issue 23 of the longest running 2000 AD fanzine, Dogbreath!

Artwork by strip artist James Feist, based on an idea by Richmond Clements.

This issue will be on sale in time for the BICS show in October, along with issue 10 of Zarjaz.

More info about the galaxies greatest fanzines can always be found at The Quaequam Blog! and you can buy copies of the comics at The FQP Webshop!

It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.
You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.

He is being modest about his own role - Bolt brought everything together, jiggled it all around tweaked things until it was just right.

Love that cover!

You would do though ;)

I am completely unbiased though ;) and delcare it excellent - I love the way it has worked out with all the characters, although my favourite is the Grnk as a strung-out Ewan McGregor.

For comparison is a copy of the poster:

So remember: Chose life, chose Dogbreath.
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

He always is!
If I died tomorrow, Dogbreath and Zarjaz would continue- but if Bolt popped it... I'd be snecked.

Not to be too blunt, but fucking brilliant. Love it

Can we have a list of all the issues published so far?

There seems to be a Series 1 and Series 2? I suspect from the change over from Dr Bob.

It would be nice to try and get a complete set but I'm not sure what I have and don't have.

Cheers

Only a minor grump, but should'nt the 1,2,3,4,5 name text read the same way as the Dogbreath title along the bottome/top?
Might not matter depending on where the spine is, if so just tell me to shutup.

Dogbreath 1-14 were from Dr Bob (A4 side stapled)
Dogbreath 15-22 (current issue) Are from Myself & Rich.

I don't know of any specials and I don't have a full set myself.

Zarjaz is more of an issue.
The original run was only 4 issues (I believe there were some specials) I don't have all of these, so I can't be sure.

The current numbering started with 0 that came out for a Dreddcon as a taster. the first full issue was launched at the Brighton 2005 gig.
So- 0-4 and an Anniversary special.

Zarjaz 05-09 (current issue) Are from myself & Rich.

Does that help?

Huff- The numbering was taken to match the poster. :)
