Cheers, this would've passed me by. Just put my order in on amazon. now I'll have to reread anti-up to refresh my memory.

This is sadly the only comic I've ever cancelled after just one issue. Although I'm sure it's great for those who like this kind of story and writing style, it's just not my thang.

Aren't the 2 trades 6 issues each?

i.e. 1-6 and 7-12?

Which means that v3 should be OK.

I bought Ante-up ....it was shite

looks like Diggle hoping to appeal to a Film Studio and the big bucks buy out

I've recently started buying The Losers again, jumped back on a few months a go with the Afghan drug camp story. I can see why people wouldn't dig it, but for me it's like a modern A-Team without the jive talking (the one negative of the whole comic).

Plus the art makes me want to sell my house and devote my life to buying Losers pages.

"It's like a modern A-Team without the jive talking"

...but with added shitty, stereotypical Arab and Muslim characters, plus the apparently-obligatory Tough Muslim Girl In A Man's World!

Great art of course but the trouble I have with this kind of thing is the reliance on people pointing guns at each other every page. The good thing about Tarantino is people usually react realistic i.e. vulnerable with guns around which adds to the drama and put it above dumb Rambo type action.

Still, it's not superheros so good for Diggle and Jock if he's made it a success, just wish there's a bit more human drama.

Got Ante up a couple of months ago and quite liked it, awsome art and a nice conspiricy story line. might get me self V2 next time i'm in Perth. Definatly see the comparisons some people draw to the A-Team but come on it's brought up in the first issue(I think)the Losers were an A-Team so

It's a lazy comparison sure, but it's the most accurate.

Got the first collection, but meh. Not great. The art saves it from utter shitedom.

"Jock, can you sign these for us"
"But I thought you didnt like the Losers, Gary?!"
"I don't. I'm flogging them on ebay."

Remind me.  Was this before or after he physically assaulted you?

Rats. I think you put "For Mike" on mine.

I was pleased with that, but now I'm annoyed I can't sell it on eBay.

I demand you send me free original art, Jock!

oh, this was after...

the 'warning punch' came on another occasion entirely.

: GordonR 04 February, 2005, 07:19:05 PM
Well, it wasn't his fault.  After being physically assaulted by a droid at the previous Dreddcon, the big lad obviously thought he'd get his retaliation in first the next year.

Unfortunately for you, it was a completely different droid he picked as his target.

Still, it gave the rest of us a good laugh.

Bless his cotton socks.  Orange, of course.

"THE 'MEANING' OF ORANGE: Orange is vibrant. It's a combination of red and yellow so it shares some common attributes with those colors. It denotes energy, warmth, and the sun. But orange has a bit less intensity or aggression than red, calmed by the cheerfulness of yellow."

Must be broken then ...

Well at end of the last Dreddcon, realising I'd not actually had a fight with anyone I lightly punched Spurrier in the (surprisingly fat - yeah I know pot/kettle) stomach while he tried to spike me with his hair

You can still sell it Trouty you just have to be more specific with your item description. 'For Sale - One copy of 'The Losers' signed by Jock. Would suit someone named Mike'.

: Trout 04 February, 2005, 08:03:17 PM
Don't tell Jock, but I had it framed. I like it a lot.

It's not like he's doing all that many issues of The Losers these days...

Oi! Jock! Work faster!

Punched me lightly in my fat belly?  I have absolutely no recollection of that...

Either a) I was drunk and have since buried the ungodly memory, b) it was such a girly noncey punch I didn't even notice, or c) you were shadow boxing with yourself.  Which would of course explain the chunky part, though not the "surprise".  Hmm.

: Re: Losers
: jock 04 February, 2005, 09:00:06 PM
whatever the explanation si, i for one will be sure to watch my step next time... it's good to be reminded that sometimes, in this crazy mixed up world of ours, only violence will keep us in check. apparently.

I think you were on your third Southern Comfort so you may not quite remember.
: Re: Losers
: El Spurioso 04 February, 2005, 09:07:37 PM
Oh, made-up association with girly drinks or not, I think I'd remember *actual physical contact*.  That's the sort of thing that'd cause mental scars, nightmares, a lifetime of trauma, waking up in the night shrieking about "the bad tango man" etc etc.  "The voice, mummy... the terrible, booming voice..."

Anyway, macho frippery aside, who's this droid you beat-up the year before, then?  And was that before or after you'd performed your world-famous "turtle-on-its-back" party piece?

: Quirkafleeg 04 February, 2005, 09:23:45 PM
Heh Heh heh... it was just play-fighting like the time we first meet (when you were much taller)
