That white carpet must be hell to clean, I can see a few marks on it already...

DDT did a job on me

Very interesting.  Predictably though, I followed the links to your page and then 'splashpage Art' and got sod all done all morning...
Pffft...

Trout

Ooooh. So an actual studio, rather than working from home?

Looks like you have two homes.

Pete Wells

Great that, Jock. However, the Chris Halls/Cunningham Mean Machine painting is too lovely to be in a pile on ther floor and should be on the wall dammit!

Adrian Bamforth

great to finally see (Jock & Dom in) da bungalow, would be interesting to see your working methods if it doesn't give away too many secrets. I'm always impressed by the photographic qualities of your work yet you get across a dynamism that goes beyond the photo-ref of, say, Tim Bradstreet (I know you don't use it compulsively but there's clearly some photographic influence there). Whenever I dabble in it I find it just makes things harder and I vow never to use it again. Also, you've ingeniously created a style that not only brandishes a great impact from not that many lines, lots of black space and very freehand inking (with a rapidograph I gather) - so much of the page seems to come from the dynamism of the inking it would be interesting to see some of the pencils.

Totnes, heh.

wow, hey - thanks ade! i had no idea that's what i did... i just make it up as i go along to be honest... don't think about it too much anymore (i used to a LOT) and just put down what feels right.

couple of points -
my pencils are so vague most of the time... a lot of th edrawing and problem solving happens in the inks, i just work better that way. the more i tighten my pencils the worse the drawing seems to get. if i can put it down with one (hopefully correct) line it'll be all the more spontaneous, and have that 'elusive' energy...

i've done a couple of process features - i'll link here.

oph, and i use a rotring artpen, not a rap-rap-rap-iiiiiiiiii-ddddooo.

what you up to at the moment?

cheers

Interesting insight, cheers for sharing that.
