There's a rather interesting little bit about Jock's art on Detective (which currently is really on fire with Scott Snyder and Francesco Francavilla at the moment as I've raved about elsewhere) over at The Source. It also includes a truly wonderful page of art from that comic.

Appreciate its a bit of a tangent form the topic but a good excuse to post the link at least.

According to Twitter, below is the image that got Jock his 2000AD break. It's bloody lovely:

Brilliant stuff! Wasn't that image used on a Meg cover?

I can't see it on BARNEY, but it's similar to this one:

it ended up on the back cover of a megazine. pt 2 of 'dead ringers' was inside - my first dredd strip.

(wake - it's true, i like an upshot!!)

That Batman page is utterly stunning.  :o

I'm not even a big Batman fan, but I would frame that and hang it on my wall.

Beautiful piece Jock, absoulutley stunning, love the vivid colouring. Will you be releasing a collection of your work in the near future as I would for one would love to purchase your work?  :)

I got halfway through that episode and had to go back and check the credits to confirm that it wasn't still Fegredo (who'd done the first episode IIRC). In my book, that's high praise!

Yay, got a page of that art... well the one with the stookie farm anyway, think that was ep. 2

Jock's Dredd has such a great monolithic look to him.

O Lucky Stevie!

Snap! Initially Stevie was convinced that Jock was a collobarative pseudonym for the best two things to come out of Crisis -- Duncan Fegredo & Sean Phillips.
