Mornin'. Does anyone know which brush style in photoshop gives a magic marker effect? I'm thinking Pantone Tria marker on bleedproof layout paper...

I'll ask my eldest tonight as he's much better at that than I am, but while this thread is here...

Is the a way to set a whole folder of images to 'save for web' automatically?

Buddy

Bolt, can that not be done using the batch process?

Bolt-01

Unc. I've no idea. I had a look at batch and it gave me  alist of options to choose from but save for web wasn't there.

Do you have to write a 'macro' style event for it?

OOO, cheers Funt, I'll have a look later and let you know!

Buddy

Bolt, you need to set up an ACTION to then BATCH using the ACTION you created for saving the files.

Seems to have done the trick- cheers Hive-mind.

Forgive me if you've already tried this out.

(depending on which version you're using- I'm still using Photoshops 5 & 7 even though I've been offered copies of CS2 and CS3 by tec-savy students)

Photoshop 7

There's an option to add to your existing brushes in the brush palette, click on the small circular arrow button to the right and a drop down menu will appear, scroll to the bottom of the list and click on any of the brushes options listed ("dry media brushes" for example) choosing the "append" option will add these new brushes to your existing compliment.

After a bit of trial and error (you can always delete the ones you don't want) you should find one that resembles the Tria marker you'r e looking for.

Couple that with a halfway decent pressure sensitive graphics tablet and you're away.

You can also find free Photoshop brush plugins online however they tend to just mimic crappy, gimicky rubber stamps for the most part.

Third option is to make your own.

Drop a selection marquee around any group of pixels, preferably blk on wht and go to the "Edit" drop down menu then select "Define brush..." and it will add the selection to your brush palette. Edit your new brush in the brushes presets palette in the drop down menu "Window".

More beer..
Obviously you're not a golfer.

Thanks Bart, I got some decent results messing around in that pallette but I didn't try it using the graphics tablet. Will give that a go on Monday.

No problem.

Glad to be of some assistance ;)

Let me know how it goes.
Obviously you're not a golfer.

Does anyone know how I can get my brushes selection to show the ones with the tapered ends?I'm not sure what ther're called but they're the ones I always use. I've recently installed a new wacom and I can't seem to reset the brushes to the way I had them

I want to see these ones:
